Cilliers blow for Sharks

Patric Cilliers’s season-ending injury has left the Sharks front row cupboard a little bare.

Cilliers injured his knee in the Sharks’ recent win over the Lions and it has been confirmed he will play no further part in their campaign. Robbie Harris is the man elected to replace him at tighthead.

Harris will scrum down against JD Moller when the Sharks face Province on Saturday, as WP loosehead Schalk Ferreira has also fallen foul to a serious rib injury. Both teams have already lost many first-choice players in this department, with WP’s Eddie Andrews still injured and the Sharks’ Deon Carstens gone for the season.

The Durban side are also without John Smit, BJ Botha and Bismarck du Plessis, who are at the World Cup in France.
