Akona Ndungane will get his first and probably only World Cup match time this weekend.
Jake White confirmed to Keo.co.za that Ndungane, having been declared fit, would play, but also said the core of his squad would be similar to the one involved in the quarter-final against Wales in Marseille.
Ndungane arrived at the World Cup with a rib injury and has not played for six weeks. He has trained well in the last week and White said the medical opinion was consistent that he would be ready for the last Pool match.
Ndungane aside, White will primarily use the USA match to prepare for the quarter-final. It seems only Bakkies Botha will get a rest from starting duties. Botha has started the first three tournament matches and will be a definite starter against Wales.
Boks (probable): Montgomery, Ndungane, Fourie, Steyn, Habana, James, Du Preez, Burger, Smith, Van Heerden, Matfield, Van den Berg, BJ Botha, Smit, Du Randt. Subs: Du Plessis, Van der Linde, Botha/Muller, Skinstad, Pienaar, Olivier and Pietersen.
