Double blow for Treu’s troop

Double blow for Treu’s troop

Jonathan Mokuena and Mzwandile Stick will miss the second leg of the IRB Sevens Championship in George.

Mokuena has been suspended for six weeks for shoving a referee in the recent competition in Dubai, where the Boks lost to eventual winners New Zealand in the semi-final.

South Africa’s Sevens Player if the Year Stick will also miss out this weekend due to a shoulder injury. Marius Schoeman and Kabamba Floors have replaced the duo.

The George leg starts this Friday and South Africa will begin with pool matches against Wales, Argentina and Uganda.

    No wurries!!

The anzacs are pretty good with attacking rugby and if a team of newbies plays a defensive game they will be taken apart.
Which happened luckily it wasnot a bigger scoreline.

Tinus, ek so nooit na so plek kan gaan waar hulle jou net blare en wortelsap voer nie. Dink ek sal mal word.

#50 Walla, thanks for the kind words, I think?! The team will tour England before going across to Oz for the customary three tests. If we do well in England we will be going to Oz high on confidence and not without reason, the current pom team will be hard to beat in England.

If they learned anything from previous outtings they will change their approach and we may end up having some fun and play good cricket. A bad pom series or no change in approach will leave us high and dry.

Truth be told I do not have very high hopes for Mickey Mouse and his sidekick Minnie Smith…

India brimming with confidence will give us some measure of how well we are.

I think Australia are going to go with an all out attack with fast bowlers. Mitchell and tait etc.

tait is to be included due his spell over the past few weeks.

ge-detox Trup, klink gevaarlik, sit mens dit op jou brood of wat?

Tinus, Hayden is still around but unless he starts getting good scores I think he may be dropped soon. Vinnige veertig en dan waai hy…

I was really looking forward to the SA series and was hoping sa was going to win at least one test to make it an interesting summer…nothing came of it.

The first test was the best then SA fell apart…real grit was evident in the first test and Aus were full of praise but something happened.

Sith made a horror decsion to give ponting the third test win…altho it was applauded that he wanted a result…you dont make it easy for opposition.
he wont make that mistake again..if SA cant win then walk away with a draw..it is test cricket.

If sa only lost 1-0 while in aus they would have had our measure in SA but that third test in aus was a kick in the nads and bent SA over.

I say play positive cricket and if you cant win…dont lose!

yeah Walla, all talk but no action. The Indians are talking a good game currently but not performing on the pitch.

By the way, interesting to listen to Ponting on Friday night saying they need to look at the schedule, to much cricket and injuries all around… It would have carried a whole lot more water if I did not hear last night about half the national cricket team, including the same said Ponting, signing up for a 20/20 series in India next year. I suppose to much cricket does not count when $$$ are part of the deal.

Ponting was sounding a little hypocritical to me.

Sometimes I think he is a good captain but he implanted foot into mouth then…doos!

Little hypocritical Walla? Sheesh if I did not know better I would have thought he was gunning for some time off to go and play for big bucks in India!

Must admit, he is currently the best batsman in the world in can probably be ranked in the top 3 all time batmen but he is a ****. Just something that really cheeses me off about his attitude/demeanour, like you say, doos comes to mind…

You moron, the least you can do before calling for womeones head is make sure of your facts. Treu had an awesome squad for the first torunaments last year. Then they all were swiped back by their S14 squads, leaving him with a third rate squad.

He has learnt from that, and has now contracted 12-odd players for a few years, so that they don’t have to go back to their S14 squads.

These current players are not the best players that we can put formward, and are mostly greenhorns, but they have potential and at least they will be there and play with each other consistently. And Jake has shown us what consistency and experience can do.

In the press reports over the lat few weeks, he has said that they ar building for 2009. If you consider that this is teh first outing for a relatively new team, then getting to teh semi’s isn’t too bad. Only thng is that I think Tietjen’s NZ team is also quite new one – not sure if they are permanently contracted for a few years though.

Obviously it also doesn’t help when your star players goes around pushing the ref and getting sent off either. Not the coaches fault that.
