Cliff cleared in club incident
9 Dec 2007
Waratahs No 8 Wycliff Palu will resume training after being cleared in a Sydney night club incident.
Palu was removed from the Waratahs squad earlier this week when it was learnt he was present at a club where a patron was injured. The Waratahs administration confirmed Palu’s innocence, but did not express any regret for withdrawing him from the team.
“Wycliff has been treated as a witness only in the police investigation,” NSWRU chief executive Jim L’Estrange said in a statement.
“As a result of the meeting with police I have withdrawn the disciplinary charge against Wycliff and he is free to resume team duties. We don’t apologise for being decisive because consistency in our approach to disciplinary matters is paramount to our game.
“The good news is that Wycliff has no case to answer and we can get on with the job.”
