Tahs rout Brumbies
1 Feb 2008
A dominant second-half performance saw the Waratahs complete a 48-19 drubbing of the Brumbies in Gosford.
Ewen McKenzie’s charges racked up eight tries in all, scoring five in the last 25 minutes. The high try-count was in spite of the weather, as heavy rains saw the two curtain raisers cancelled.
The Brumbies led 19-10 at the break, but failed to score another point in the game. Waratahs replacement Tom Carter scored a brace as the hosts completed a lop-sided victory.
The Highlanders internal trial saw the St Kevins Highlanders selection beat the Waitaki Highlanders selection 31-0 in Oamaru on Friday night. This match was also marred by inclement weather.
Waratahs – Tries: Tom Carter (2), Adam Freier, Wycliff Palu, Matt Dunning, Sekope Kepu, Tatafu Polota-Nau, Rob Horne. Conversions: Kurtley Beale (2), Brett Sheehan (2).
Brumbies – Tries: Peter Kimlin, Afusipa Taumoepeau, John Ulugia. Conversions: Anthony Faingaa (2).

Only 50 % conversion rate – not great – Brumbies will be back , underestimate them at your peril.

Wallabie,
The only connection between wing and Matt Dunning is that he gets 2 of them in each lunch time KFC 12 piece feed
Have your say
