Durban’s new Playboy

Durban’s new Playboy

Frederic Michalak is a model, a gay icon and music producer. But he wants you to remember him as a rugby player.

SA Rugby MagSA Rugby magazine visited the French flyhalf in Durban on the eve of the Super 14 to extract the man behind the hype.

“I’m here for the rugby and not for the party as some would have you believe,” he says. “I’ve always dreamt of playing Super Rugby and I’m not going to blow my opportunity.”

In the mag, Michalak reveals why he joined the Sharks, which Sharks players he rates and why this pre-season has been the toughest of his career. He also explains the meaning behind his tattoos, why he prefers children to adults and why he’s a big fan of hip hop.

In the new issue of SA Rugby magazine:

– Peter de Villiers on apartheid, Luke and Cheeky Watson, playing an expansive game against the All Blacks, and what he would have told Heyneke Meyer after the Bok coach announcement

– Nick Mallett on life in Rome

– Stofile: Mad Mike or Iron Mike? You decide?

– Neil de Kock sizzles for Saracens (but still dreams of playing for the Boks again)

– Super 14 focus: Big Joe, Jongi Nokwe, Conrad Jantjes and Wikus van Heerden

– Why the President’s Council should not be running SA Rugby

– Lost Pumas: Argentina’s battle for recognition

– Bob Skinstad joins our team of columnists

– Giant 2008 fixtures poster

must say, though i am neutral, the bulls vs stormers game is also one i am looking forward to after all the hype on keo.

on a lighter note, we are all apes (we belong to the primate family, the great apes to be precise). some more than others it seems.

And I thought we were all Neanderthals, but then Neanderthals are also propbably part of the Ape family, only differntiated by their ability to use a keyboard and click the submit button.

  • 244.ruck: Reply to this comment

#242 – Howdy Ranger…You betya. The blood is boiling. I am alternating my Stormers shirts, t-shirts, tank tops, and my I AM A STORMER Adidas gym top daily. (This leaves NO-ONE who encounters me anywhere, in any doubt as to who I support, and how excited I am about the S14)

Reckon The Quokka throwing/Steroid abusing/Drunk and disorderly Perth trash ******** will give yr boys a good game? I think so…gonna be a great one 2. (The Force are a force this year – me thinks)

  • 245.rangerman: Reply to this comment

    hey super
apparently, fossil evidence of neanderthals and **** erectus living at the same time, in the same area, has been discovered. the neanderthals, though more powerful physically, were outcompeted by the direct ancestors of **** sapiens (us) and have been found with brutal wounds to the skull, indicating the possibility of the earliest genocide on record (by **** erectus). how this relates to the bulls vs stormers i will leave up to wiser minds than mine to decide.

  • 246.Dawn: Reply to this comment

    Jammer baas.

Ek sal so graag wil gaan saam.

Ranger, you will see me first should there be any “trouble”. I have watched the Football Hooligans International documentaries carefully….I know what my firm expects of me, and I won’t hesitate to deliver.
