Frederic Michalak is a model, a gay icon and music producer. But he wants you to remember him as a rugby player.

SA Rugby MagSA Rugby magazine visited the French flyhalf in Durban on the eve of the Super 14 to extract the man behind the hype.

“I’m here for the rugby and not for the party as some would have you believe,” he says. “I’ve always dreamt of playing Super Rugby and I’m not going to blow my opportunity.”

In the mag, Michalak reveals why he joined the Sharks, which Sharks players he rates and why this pre-season has been the toughest of his career. He also explains the meaning behind his tattoos, why he prefers children to adults and why he’s a big fan of hip hop.

    ruck, he’d have to, otherwise the cardigan could end up on the ghastly floor and that would be a right kerfuffel.

    His other option would be to knot it over his shoulders, but that opens all sorts of other problem doors, like colour co-ordination with the Polo shirt and potentially stretching the sleeves.

    #293 – Yes Racheltjie…you only have to peek at the Gods of the Stadium calendars (of which I have them all) to see how comfortable they are.

    Put it this way, I have seen more of some French rugby players than would be deemed morally suitable for a married women. AND they get the overseas players playing in France to pose 2….hence me seeing more than is good for my heart of Sean Lamont, Juan Martin Hernandez and others.

    I am wondering if Victor will be posing this year?
