Frederic Michalak is a model, a gay icon and music producer. But he wants you to remember him as a rugby player.

SA Rugby MagSA Rugby magazine visited the French flyhalf in Durban on the eve of the Super 14 to extract the man behind the hype.

“I’m here for the rugby and not for the party as some would have you believe,” he says. “I’ve always dreamt of playing Super Rugby and I’m not going to blow my opportunity.”

In the mag, Michalak reveals why he joined the Sharks, which Sharks players he rates and why this pre-season has been the toughest of his career. He also explains the meaning behind his tattoos, why he prefers children to adults and why he’s a big fan of hip hop.

    322 – Fair enough, but this is where it gets messy. Just read on IOL about a *** black tourist from Belgium being refused entry to Bronx (*** club in Green Point) – apparently on racial grounds. His white friend got in, but he was barred.

    It’s easy to figure it out in your head when the black oke gets picked on by the white racist. Or when the moffie gets picked on by the homophobe. But when the black moffie gets picked on by the white moffie racist it just becomes too complicated.

    Corporate blow up is having a business meeting with the suite holder this morning and telling them that due to a late handover on a contract, I will be enforcing penalties on them to the tune of R25k a day… they are already 17 days late and counting… do the math

    I dont find it very prudent to show my face in that box come Saturday…
