Jantjes back for Durbs bruiser
18 Feb 2008
Conrad Jantjes has been cleared of a thumb injury and will play against the Sharks this Saturday.
Stormers coach Rassie Erasmus confirmed on Monday there were no serious injuries after the physically taxing opener against the Bulls. Jantjes, who was given an extra week to recover from his ailment, is now fit to play.
Erasmus hinted that Jantjes would be rushed straight back into the side. “I thought Gio Aplon had a great game against the Bulls,” he said. “But Conrad is currently the top fullback in South Africa.”
Schalk Burger was the only player carrying a slight rib injury after Saturday’s game, but the Springbok opensider missed training to attend the Laureus Awards in Russia. The Boks won the award for Team of the Year.
Flanker Pieter Louw and flyhalf Isma-eel Dollie are also on the mend, but did not take full contact on Monday.
Probable Stormers - Conrad Jantjes, Tonderai Chavhanga, Gcobani Bobo, Jean de Villiers, Sireli Naqelevuki, Peter Grant, Ricky Januarie, Luke Watson, Francois Louw, Schalk Burger, Andries Bekker, Franco van der Merwe, Brian Mujati, Tiaan Liebenberg, JD Moller.

They not going to change the line up…
I would look at bringing in Diak and Skeate with Fondsa. If Saturday proved anything you need somebody to chase the ball, and there is few better than watson. Diak has the size anf the speed to get the go forward and brings another option at lineout time…

Franco van der Merwe?
Have the Lions released him? Pretty good of them… he was one of their best players last week.

SB had a kak game on Sat. Not up to his normal std. The midget played well in the first half and then went quiet. Must have been the hit on him. Jdv also needs to step up. He seems to have forgotten how to pass? Tian L is gonna do well this season. My 5c worth.

I thought Gio had an OUTSTANDING game.

Skeate and Fondse should start, then Bekker on bench. This will supply the most ball to run with.

i would start with bekker and fondse, skeate thinks he is a butterfly just touching rucks and not hitting rucks

koosbasson why would you change a winning pack?
and why are you so desperate to bring skeate in the starting IX?

Drop Chavhanga. The guy’s a sprinter – not a rugby player.

Superstormer.
That is just the problem.
What winning pack?
Did we all miss something, or did they win on Saturday?
19 Feb 2008, 09:52 am
tight head
we did not win i agree, but the pack was not the reason why we lost was it?
the loosies and backs made silly errors if you ask me, they had good ball provided by our pack,
and we put hugo pressure on their scrum!

Superstormer.
I admire your loyalty to your team, however you need to understand that it is only the score board that counts.
Believe me, your scrum needs to improve 30% before the Sharks this week end, if they are not going to get stuffed.
You do not help your cause by shouting about how great your pack is because they were able to hold their own against the Bulls in the first game of the S14.
There is a long way to go, and you guys are very mistaken if you believe on the performance of one game you have a WINNING pack in this competition.

#1: Watson was one of the better players on saturday. He always got across the advantage line. And had a much better game than his opposite number,Pedrie Wannenburg, who is bigger than him and also a line out option.
Your obesession with size is f*cking sad man.

yip i see your point but as i have said before i think our pack was also solid in 2007
i hope we can build on this performance

Rassie weet nie waarvan hy praat nie, Aplon is 100 keer beter as Jantjes…die nuwe reels pas ‘n bedrieglike hardloper soos Aplon soos ‘n handskoen…

walter
ons het niemand wat kan skop nie janjes los daai probleem vir ons op
19 Feb 2008, 14:13 pm
Nice
Rassie has 2 Zimbo’s and a guy from Fiji in his team.
So what about all the local talent in the Cape?

#18 Praat jy van pale toe of uit algemene spel?
Jantjes het ‘n goeie voet aan hom vir lynskoppe, maar ek kies Aplon bo hom enige dag…Aplon gaan baie meer driee druk en maak…
