Brutish Bowden banned

Highlanders flyhalf Daniel Bowden has been suspended for one match following a dangerous tackle on Brumbies prop Guy Shepherdson.

The Highlanders lost 22-20 to the Brumbies in Saturday’s game in Canberra, a defeat that was compounded by Bowden’s citing. The pivot was found guilty for a reckless tackle but had his two-week suspension halved after a judiciary committee ruled the tackle was unintentional.

The Highlanders will need to find a new flyhalf before next week’s match up with Waratahs. Mike Delany is likely to slot in at 10.
