Brutish Bergamasco banned
27 Feb 2008
Italy flanker Mauro Bergamasco has been suspended for 13 weeks after being found guilty of eye-gouging.
The Azzuri were thrashed 47-8 by Wales last week, a defeat that’s cost them more than log position. Bergamasco was convicted of eye-gouging Welsh fullback Lee Byrne on Wednesday.
Bergamasco will be out of action until June which effectively ends his season with Italy in the Six Nations and Stade Francais in the respective European competitions.

Very sad indeed. So dangerous. Such a gutsy player who has spat on his jersey and his country. Foolish.

Can imagine the outcry if Schalk had got a thirteen weeker for touch judge name calling.

Schalkie wanted to gouge Roos’ eyes. Thats why he kept pointing at them.

He was aching to de eye him one time, now if that was a blind alley ol Roos might never have emerged out of there alive.

Looking at the 2 sentences, it just proves once again that you can point to it, and be ok, but once you stick it in, trouble may be coming your way, then there’s no effective reverse action, so to speak.

To make things worse, I bet you his finger was both dirty and unprotected. Let’s hope there’s no significant swelling, dripping or itching.
Ok, I’m done.

I am Italian, and am disgusted, Bergamasco must be left out of the Italian line up! He is continuously yellow carded, and always costs the team! All the good he may do on the field is nullified by his bad behaviour! The Italians are better off without him!
JE hope you are not insinuating that he is dirty ’cause he is Italian because that comment is offensive!

At least he’s not a bag-snatcher like those Frenchies. Or ear-biters like the Yarpies.

Tackler you are forgetting Head-butting Frenchies!

…or cry-babies like those handbag-slapping Kiwi’s…
P.S. A few years out of SA, and you have already forgotten how to spell “Japies,” or is it just an indication of your sad desparation to conform to your new, choked-up buddies?

#9 – what’s the politically correct name for an ex-pat redneck?
Have your say
