A Swede, an Irishman and a Scotsman take their wives golfing.
The Swede’s wife steps up to the tee and, as she bends over to place her ball, a gust of wind blows her skirt up and reveals her lack of underwear.
“Good God, woman! Why aren’t you wearing any skivees?” Ole demanded.
“Well, you don’t give me enough housekeeping money to afford any.”
The Swede immediately reaches into his pocket and says, “For the sake of decency, here’s a 50. Go and buy yourself some underwear.
Next, the Irishman’s wife bends over to set her ball on the tee. Her skirt also blows up to show that she, too, is wearing no undies.
“Blessed Virgin Mary, woman! You’ve no knickers. Why not?” She replies, “I can’t afford any on the money you give me.”
Patrick reaches into his pocket and says; “For the sake of decency, here’s a 20. Go and buy yourself some underwear!”
Lastly, the Scotsman’s wife bends over and the wind also takes her skirt over her head to reveal that she, too, is naked under it.
“Sweet mudder of Jaysus, Aggie! Where the frig are yer drawers?”
She too explains, “You dinna give me enough money ta be able ta affarrd any.”
The Scotsman reaches into his pocket and says:
“Well, ferrr the love ‘o decency, here’s a comb. Tidy yerself up a bit.”

That is the long and short of it.
But those ex-players would probably have to come from the ranks the so-called ‘previously disadvanced players’. But that shouldn’t be a poroblem, not to me at least, as long as they have the interests of rugby at heart and don’t play politics.

#3 . Blokkies are you serious? The solution is self evident. Do what evry other major rugby playing nation does and appoint ex-players who have experienced top-level rugby in the decision making process. What are two women who have absolutely no hands on experience with rugby doing on the five member President’s Council? They cannot contribute anything to the game of rugby except political muscle. No womder SA Rugby is regsrded as a circus here in N Z and Aus.

We already have Komphela and the Sports Council in the present government set-up.
The p ANC government will not change it’s stance on sport and another ‘someone’ in there won’t force them to push the PC out. That is where I disagree with badeesh.
And to use the lack of progress in transformation, as badeesh suggested, to get rid of the pc won’t work either for it is the responsibility of the government to fund ‘social engineering’ at provincial level and to provide the infra-structure for transformation at the base (school and club levels).
So, unless there is a change of government in SA things will stay the same.
Sorry badeesh, but it won’t happen. We are stuck with the pc.

Gents -

Badeesh has a point. Nothing that a million supporters do will make PC go away. Not the finest groups, blogs, anything. The govt has that power. Only thing needed is to get someone inside the govt, who has that power, to push them out, even if for different reasons. If they can take farms from farmers, I bet you they can take the PC from these idiots.

Yeah so it offers no solution – but who has one?

I have said and will maintain, disband the collective power the big 5 has – have 6 franchises or even just 5 franchises (combining the Bulls and Lions with Midrand being their home base) and have a North (main unions – Bulls & Lions – smaller unions; Pumas, Valke, Leopards), East coast (Natal major union), Central (Cheetahs major union – smaller unions Griffons & Griquas), Southern and Eastern Cape (Border, EP and SWD) and Western Cape/coast (WP, Boland).

Have them play in the Currie Cup and Super 14.

Have the 14 unions, individually play in the ‘Lion Cup/Vodacom Cup/Whatever Cup’, grow this Varsity Cup thing (becuase its brilliant) and then get a similar club comp (national) going on the same principle.

Either that or keep the CC for the 14 unions and create a whole new Cup/Comp for the Franchise teams after the S14 – call it the Mandela Cup or whatever. Get it totally professional and importantly divorce it completely from any union – base it on a region basis.

Hell even make it open to investors/fans to buy into the franchises.

i’m saying that … a supporters club can achieve absolutely nothing, even if by some miracle, we manage to financially cripple the game in south africa, it will be decades before we get back to where we were.

the only people who can fix this are the SA government. and the only way we can get them to do it, is by as a people, we completely back transformation and use SARU’s failure to do so as leverage for the government to disband the company.
