UCT secured a home semi-final with a scrappy 36-7 win over NMMU at the Varsity Cup Easter festival in George.

Ikeys have a six-point lead on the log and can’t be caught with only Monday’s games to be played. The fight for second spot and the remaining semi-final spots promises to be a close one, as five other teams all have a chance of making it.

Maties got a bonus-point 32-24 win over UJ which catapulted them into second position, while Tukkies’ 43-26 win over Pretoria rivals TUT put them into third. NWU-Pukke are in fourth spot due to their 35-24 win over Shimlas, but no teams are by any means secure, except the men from Cape Town.
