Third time lucky for Boks
6 Apr 2008
The Springbok Sevens team beat New Zealand 15-7 in the Cup Final of the Adelaide tournament.
This was the third successive time the two teams have met in the final, and the victory meant the Springboks broke the All Blacks’ 47-match winning streak. The Springboks’ extra-time semi-final win over Samoa was expected to have a negative effect on the players in the final, but they came out storming to score two tries in the opening five minutes.
Robert Ebersohn, the 19-year-old recruit playing in his first year of international Sevens, scored his sixth try of the competition when he ran 50 metres to out-sprint the cover defence to give the Boks a 5-0 lead. Man of the Tournament Fabian Juries scored another great counter-attacking try to extend the lead going into the shed.
The South Africans exhibited a committed and aggressive defence throughout the match which rattled the All Blacks, forcing them into uncharacteristic errors. However a Victor Vito score early in the second stanza would have had South African coach Paul Treu worried as the Kiwis narrowed the lead to three.
But Juries got his second try to seal the Springboks’ first Cup title since December 2006 in Dubai.

How could Ludicrous be appointed? How, I don’t know. But if this is what we can expect from a once mighty empire then what is the point of even watching?

Most South Africans don’t see a coloured coach and a mixed team.
We just see a South African team that has won.
It is a good feeling.
You should try it some time.

Congratulations to the Boks. Hell, I enjoyed this game.

Coming from a staunch Bulls supporter like SuperBul we must agree, although this is exactly my point. The Bulls need a new captain. FdP is soooo predictable. And he is no leader, klaar!

Well said.

tight head #20, I fully agree
Special congratulations to Paul Treu
6 Apr 2008, 12:07 pm
Always good fun to listen to a Kiwi commentator slowly becoming more anxious and panicked as his previously invincible Black team chokes.
Well played SA by the way. Good game, as was the semi against Samoa, and the other semi NZ v Fiji.
6 Apr 2008, 12:08 pm
A good game and a very good result for the country. This win means a lot to us. Well done Boys.
6 Apr 2008, 12:11 pm

6 Apr 2008, 12:15 pm
Geluk Manne!!!
6 Apr 2008, 12:20 pm
Well done Bokkies. I have been very critical of Paul Treu about his comments after the Hong Kong 7′s loss. But it seems he got his players better prepared this time. Or maybe the NZ team is just a bit tired of winning and not so motivated as they should have been. Or maybe over confident. They didn’t looked as polished as in the previous tournaments.
But well done Paul Treu and your boytjies. Enjoy the win.
6 Apr 2008, 12:20 pm
Latho looks stuffed for the season Koos … no matter, Reds have already done better this year I think than last year’s debacle. Cheetahs were better than us, we have a long way to go.
I got a late ticket to see the skyblue sheila’s triumph last night and they played pretty well I must say, even Donut at tighthead, and thats the second time (1st v Wellington)Palu has dominated highly rated NZ oppo. Axing the coach always a good move it seems for Aus S14 teams, we should have got rid of Eddie earlier.
6 Apr 2008, 12:21 pm
I’d like too know who the Kiwi commentators were. I watched in NZ and we had a Pom and a Aussie commentating here.
Full credit to Paul Treu. The game plan was executed magnificently by the SA team. Tremendous effort to come out and beat a team which hadn’t lost in a year. Hope Sa go on with it. They are clearly the 2nd best team in the series.
The NZ sevens team is not the All Blacks . That name is only used for the 15 man team.
SA obviously has speed and flair out wide. If this translated to the 15 a side game think you will see more SA teams win the S14.
6 Apr 2008, 12:22 pm
jebo yes!
6 Apr 2008, 12:23 pm
#20, Well Said . . . Couldn’t have said it better myself, if they are the best and representing the green ‘n gold, they have my 100% support too.
Well done Paul and the boys, once again it was defence that clinched a final.
6 Apr 2008, 12:23 pm
Paul Treu and Neil Powell did SA proud with the way they spoke after the win.
They were respectfull and gracious in defeat.
They would have won many friends in their attitude.
Well done to both men.
6 Apr 2008, 12:26 pm
I mean gracious in victory.
6 Apr 2008, 12:29 pm
Well done boys. Thats how you beat these guys- in the face all the time! Don’t forget it.
A nee a! Superbul, hoekom so swartgallig? Jou Bulle speel rugby. Hou moed broer!

Surely this is some kind of April fools carry-on.
(or was Suzie holidaying in Adelade).
6 Apr 2008, 12:44 pm
6 Apr 2008, 12:47 pm
Pity I didn’t get the chance to see the 7′s, must say I do enjoy when Suzie gets to perform her magic every now and again.

6 Apr 2008, 13:05 pm
Well done 7′s Boks, great win against all odds. This was a brilliant game to watch, was on the edge of my seat and screaming for the Boks throughout.
Just one negative – do these okes ever practice their drop-kicks, coz it sure didn’t look like it.
But nevermind that, enjoy the win guys, you deserve it.
6 Apr 2008, 13:05 pm
I am in the unfortunate location where I have to work on Saturdays and Sundays but the fortunate situation where I can go home for lunch and by great coincidence happen to be in a time zone that allows me to watch the 7′s final live! What an absolute pleasure. Sevens is such a exciting and pleasurable game to watch. Those who try and compare sevens and fifteens should avoid the head ache. They are different games and both have a special place in sport!! I love them both.
The Boks were fantastic today! They defended like trojans and have unearthed an absolute gem in Eberson (sp). He has some gas. Fabian Juries is just pushing his legend status higher and higher – It is a shame that he is not acknowledged more in South Africa. To beat any NZ team in 7′s is huge but to beat this team in a final is even bigger. Not only is this team won of the best they have had in recent years but a final is 10 minutes each way as opposed to 7 minutes each way. The more time the NZ’ers have the less likely you are to win!!
Congrats Boks.

“A Coloured coach with a mixed team”
What the hell is that? I thought all coaches and people are coloured. Last time I looked at the science of colour it included white, black, violet, indego, blue, green, yellow etc.
Coming from a S.African I can only guess this is not racist.
6 Apr 2008, 13:10 pm
NEXT HEADLINE: KIWI’S KLAP SEVENS BOKS
and Mr True will say we are getting better and better, we almost won (40-12 the score) & all we need are bigger players , Saffaguy will defend all the previously disadvantaged players , Cane or some other Kiwi will say that in another 6-7 years we’ll be serious contenders……. Why o why?

I was merely stating that Treu is Coloured just like Barack Obama and that the team consists of a mixture of White, Black and Coloured players.
For the people living within our borders and a few outside colour does not matter.
For the majority of ex-saffas colour does matter especially g13g and Tackler and you won,t find them congratulating the team!
6 Apr 2008, 13:14 pm
And the losing team has its first defeat in 47 games and the winning supporters are bleating and gloating as usual. Shades of one swallow making a summer me guess.
Fellow countrymen please get things and all life in perpective. This is a game and not your religion. Have you not just returned from paying your weekly hypocritical respects to your dominee?

Actually what I have said, is that you Saffas have got a good team right now. And success will come.(meaning soon).
Top International 7′s, has more luck to it than 15′s. So sometimes even a very good team can go many Tournaments without things quite going their way.
To get things exactly right is difficult.
More countries are competitive at 7′s as well. Kenya, Fiji………….even Tunisia, have Teams that do their respective Countries proud on their day.
I am also of the opinion that there is no better way to intruduce young promising players to Professionalism, Touring and the Spotlight.

True’s assessment after previous weeks loss to NZ in the final:
“One thing that we have to realise is that we will never beat New Zealand physically,” he said. “We will have to play the game much smarter and there were a few times were we went into contact and lost the ball. Those are areas that we need to think about and just identify the opportunities on the field.”
IMO this was an honest, accurate and pragmatic assessment of the teams shortcoming and possible means to address. Instead he got slated by many for making excuses and not being good enough?? Excuses would be blaming the ref, suzie, bounce of the ball, etc. His comments were, imo, exactly the opposite.
So this week, the team works on their acknowledged shortcomings and wins. Honest, pragmatic and refreshing. Not often we get this from a coach.
Once again, well done Paul.
6 Apr 2008, 13:47 pm
Robert Ebersohn is a definite future star of world rugby, he’s the best player I have ever seen at craven week..He got rave reviews from all the journo’s at the tournament , he really has all the skills. Can’t wait for a super 14 side to play him. I hope it won’t be the bulls though because that would be wasting his talent. Get him to the sharks or the stormers or even stay at the cheeetahs but not the bulls..

VAN singing “That’s entrainment” Hmmm, interesting.
Entrainment- to draw along with or after oneself
Based on the Old French
entrainer, which meant “to drag,”
entrain has been used for some time
in English as a rather obscure verb
meaning “to pull or draw along
after itself.” The meaning of the
word was extended into chemistry:
“to carry along in a current.”

Pieta,
6 Apr 2008, 14:28 pm
I don’t think Robert Ebersohn is S14 material yet. He has skills, but give him another season to develop physically (biulk up). Francois Steyn could play S14 rugby at u19 level because he ate lots of pies (uhm 100+ kg’s). Eberson twins are still around 80 kg’s. Not S14 material.
6 Apr 2008, 14:29 pm
Pieta,
Tiaan Ebersohn was ‘n uitstekende skoolspeler daai tyd, weetie of hy verder gespeel het of nie.

Seker so broer.
Maar sy soort maak my moeg.

Another molten chocolate voice for you – Tito Schipa.
6 Apr 2008, 14:33 pm

Rugby Princess # 109
You said it.
In fact he is a travelling firelight open to anyone to tap into when they feel cold and needing a bit of soul warmth and understated encouragement.
His voice is like a never ending bowl of the best soul-soup from the Cauldron of the Dagda. Hehehehe.
6 Apr 2008, 14:40 pm
Greatest ********,
Every great Team looses sooner or later. And the NZ 7′s Team that lost to SA was a goodin.
Credit where it is due……..or is that beyond you.
Chokers…….just can’t help yourself can you.

It’s been a long, a long time coming but I know
A change is gonna come oh yes it will

Tito Schipa. You love opera… obviously. He is considered one of the finest tenore di grazia in operatic history. Good on you Princess. Only the greats sing in your Princess Palace.
Gonna put the kettle on…I’ll be back. ( he says with his best Terminator Austrian accent)
6 Apr 2008, 14:50 pm

6 Apr 2008, 14:50 pm
Thanks RP
I hate brainless music.
Sheesh you should see the local Afrikaans music scene.
Tacky,bad,vomit inducing.
6 Apr 2008, 14:55 pm
Fern,
Not all Afrikaans music is bad…. or tacky… embrace your own language bro….. enjoy your roots……. die lewe is ook ‘n Afrikaanse Lied…
6 Apr 2008, 14:57 pm
gbs majority of it is.
6 Apr 2008, 14:58 pm
Evening princess .. gracias a la vida, mon cherie
6 Apr 2008, 15:00 pm
gbs is right .. plenty good Afr. music specially amongst the young rocking set.
6 Apr 2008, 15:03 pm
Fern, you talk ****…. pray tell why then it is that ALL the Afrikaans Festivals…. the whole Afrikaans Culture revival is at it’s highest ebb in it’s history….
It might be that the majority of Afrikaans music does not fall within your Music apperciation…. an indication of narrow-mindedness perhaps?
I enjoy a wide variety of music from almost the whole spectrum of International and Local content…. even Classical music…
The only music I don’t dig / understand or listen to is Rap and Hip Hop…. yet I don’t begrudge other people their enjoyment thereof.
6 Apr 2008, 15:05 pm
Jinxie
Yes, Tito is an all time favourite. Loved Pavarotti too, bless him.
Fern
I guess it depends on what speaks to your soul, we are all different – that is what makes the world such an interesting place.
Skoppie
How are you today ?
6 Apr 2008, 15:05 pm
gbs nothing personal I just dont enjoy it.If people want to go Afrikaans Music Festivals then let them go.
6 Apr 2008, 15:09 pm
Fern,
Sure, you might not enjoy it…. that does not mean it’s bad or tacky though…. it’s only an indication of your inability to appreciate it…. nothing more, nothing less.
6 Apr 2008, 15:11 pm
Music is music, has a language of its own, far better than the bunkum we mostly let through our lips, if more people would listen and appreciate the sounds of harmony and pure communication, less would be the strife in our world, music is the language of our soul, has no affiliation to caste, creed or color, in fact the sooner we all shut up and start listening, the better it will be for all.
6 Apr 2008, 15:12 pm
Sarries win against Ospreys….. good game…
I’m off to the shops……. now that is bad & tacky, to say the least….. I don’t enjoy shopping…
Cheers

6 Apr 2008, 15:12 pm
Congratulations RSA. I watched it all day and they deserved it. Now you can crow for seven more days. Lol.
The commentators were Buddha (Queensland and Wallabies prop) and the Kiwi who used to do all the rugby on NZ TV, until the Kiwi public got sick of him.

Soul is a feeling, feeling deep within,
Soul is not the colour of your skin,
Soul is the essence, the essence from within,
Soul is where everything begins.
VAN THE MAN
6 Apr 2008, 15:25 pm
So if Van knows and recognizes it, how come the rest of humanity can’t, or just maybe won’t?

RP # 137
(Your comment to Fern) Tis true. We all have the same essence…but we all have different realisations.
We are all the aspects of who we are. When we don’t react but rather witness, we are peaceful because we choose the right groove and don’t leak chi and nurture senseless illusions.
Auntie Aretha Franklin was right…you got to have “Respect”.
I’m off for a walk in the forest. Cool 18 degrees. A niice autumn day.
The school of hard knocks does eventually win the day. Even if it take a billion life times.
Take care guys…

it was a good display, the academy is going to start reaping rewards.
They outclassed the AB for the first time this season.

6 Apr 2008, 20:32 pm
Zinto,
Any news on how Morgan Newman has been performing in the WP team?
6 Apr 2008, 21:00 pm
Pietman, grootblouskollie,Fern, and their ilk, such poor, pathetic, predictable and boring fools who go about pretending to know S.A. rugby, let alone rugby world wide. Let me expose them now that I have so niggled them to the point where there language and communicative skills becomes totally deficient.
A rugby question or 2 for you, you bunch of losers. Who was your ‘Bok #10 when amongst the first Blacks to be whispered by a White sportswriter as good as any ‘Bok #10 he had ever seen was Eric Majola? Or further, what 1 rugby fact can you put forward about players such as Salie Fredericks, Temba Ludwaba, Cassiem Jabaar, Gerhard Peters,Maurice Heemro, Keith Lentoor even what team did Pieter Jooste captain? Or even more damning how many persons of diversity were there when any or all of you were at high school?
6 Apr 2008, 21:13 pm
ET you are a racist. You still think you right about your Pastor Wright?
6 Apr 2008, 21:17 pm
Never ever made a comment about Rev. Wright but do recall revealing your superficiality wrt the comment you made about Obama.
How about answering some of the questions for your soul mates.
6 Apr 2008, 21:19 pm
What supporting fact/s can you advance for your claim in 156.
6 Apr 2008, 21:20 pm
ET PHONE HOME
ITS PEOPLE LIKE YOU THAT KEEPS RASCISM GOING STRONG
WHAT I CANT UNDERSTAND IS WHY YOU ARE NOT BANNED FORM HERE BY NOW ??
6 Apr 2008, 21:21 pm
Well done the Boks 7′S!
ET leave the kak for another day. Be happy that we whipped the All Blacks.
6 Apr 2008, 21:22 pm
keo ??? is this a rugby site ??
just curious mate as i dont see why people like ET are allowed in here bringing up rascist **** all the time
6 Apr 2008, 21:22 pm
Hey guy, if you want to discuss it in a civil manner and not attack someone, I would be happy too.
Basically Obama’s supported the Pastor for years, and only when his racist and anti American comments are pointed out to him, does he then distance himself from the pastor. Shows poor judgement. Not just my opinion but many others, and may hurt his chances if he wins nomination for Democrats and runs against Mc Cain.
I never said Obama was a racist, I said he supported one, and may hurt his chances.
6 Apr 2008, 21:23 pm
Another simpler rugby question for you and your soul mates. Name the greatest rugby team that you have knowledge of. Since it is subjective even all of you can answer.
6 Apr 2008, 21:24 pm
Ja sharks-lover I agree, ET just attacked and blindside me, when I was discussing soemthing with Rugby princess.
Back to rugby.
6 Apr 2008, 21:25 pm
And ET, Sharks love is right, if you want to discuss it, I will on an old thread.
6 Apr 2008, 21:27 pm
This thread is about the great bok 7s win
Well done boks, we could see it gradually happening. AB 7s squad is not unbeatable, like all the commentators and experts seemed to think.
6 Apr 2008, 21:28 pm
Plus, great to see young players both black and white playing together like that and finally winning.
6 Apr 2008, 21:29 pm
Sharks- lover you still there?
6 Apr 2008, 21:30 pm
Pity Sharks could not hold off for the win against Canes. Canes seem to think they should have had a penalty try at the end.
I think the draw maybe a fair result?
6 Apr 2008, 21:32 pm
#155 — every one of those cabbage-patch old SARU players wouldn’t have come CLOSE to making a Bok side on merit.
Only quotas could get any of them in.
6 Apr 2008, 21:32 pm
yes i am
6 Apr 2008, 21:33 pm
damn tackler would start it up again lol
6 Apr 2008, 21:35 pm
159 & 161
Have you still, even now, not learnt that you cannot ban ideas. You and your forebears tried that for decades and even though people died in the process you did not succeed.
6 Apr 2008, 21:35 pm
pete i can show you so much in the game where the sharks got the bad calls from the ref
also stefans try was a try as he got a part of his hand on the ball whilst it was on the ground
according to new laws thats a try , you do not have to put downward pressure
but in saying that the canes also got bad calls
the rest is history
and yes i agree draw prolly fair result
6 Apr 2008, 21:36 pm
But this time Tackler is right
Shark Lover just forget about ET, he hates white south africans. IMO
6 Apr 2008, 21:37 pm
ET ban ideas ??? with what you just said shows ur immature rascist *** and yes you should be banned
you sir are a mornon of note and should leave here to play with your kind
i think tight head on this blog said it best earlier
now get lost and leave us to talk rugby
this is afterall what this site is for
6 Apr 2008, 21:38 pm
its just another coloured with a chip on his shoulder
6 Apr 2008, 21:38 pm
Yes some bad calls both sides I think. Pity about the tongan flank, that was a islander special, possibly cost the sharks a win.
6 Apr 2008, 21:39 pm
luckily i know they not all like that
i have enough coloured friends to know this
infact if they met him they prolly would kick his ***
6 Apr 2008, 21:40 pm
So ET because i was talking about some of my ideas with a friend on here, you have the right to attack and blindside me with your BS.
Please explain?
6 Apr 2008, 21:40 pm
pete he did but i think it was just heat of the moment stupidity
but if he is banned its his own fault
he was looking very impressive at the time
he drove with a lot of power
6 Apr 2008, 21:41 pm
162 Simply look at my response and then give attention to your lies and distortions. Why not answer some of the questions like your “Bok #10?
What point is there in discussing( and I do not want to)with with people so used to bulying such that they do not even know when they lie and distort and then treaten in typical ultra- conservative manner?
6 Apr 2008, 21:41 pm
pete like you said ignore the juvenile delinquint
he surely cant be worth more attention
6 Apr 2008, 21:41 pm
Yea me too.
Sharks Lover I have not talked to you before, but I think we have similar opinions
6 Apr 2008, 21:44 pm
pete i felt the sharks looked damn good in the game , specially the first half
infact if the ref didnt slow us down with his bad calls on the scrums we would have whipped them
beast had the better of their tighthead , and although i aint 100%sure i felt beast was blown up wrongly
now theres a gentleman,
beast is a good friend and awesome guy
very down to earth fella
6 Apr 2008, 21:44 pm
Yeah I am going to ignor the guy.
but one last response. I was not in on the discussion about your earlier posts, you were responding to others, some of which are good people on here, who I happen to respect.
So I am not in a position to answer you.
6 Apr 2008, 21:46 pm
i normally dont chat to much as i get to angry with idiots like \\ET LOL
I feel the sharks are going to have to drop jp which would be sad *** i enjoy his play , but this year he just cant buy any form
odwa started bad but has gotten damn good again
6 Apr 2008, 21:46 pm
Look at 174. You are still bitching ,bitching ,bitching like a dog on heat about puny things like who stole my rugby marble. It is in the history books and you will never change that. And worse still in the process of doing this you think you are so smart. rather go to bed.
6 Apr 2008, 21:46 pm
Yeah and the beast playing with other good players around him he seems to get better every game, and could be in bok squad. (if not still a zim national)
I like his work rate around the field and his excellent open field tackles.
6 Apr 2008, 21:47 pm
187 READ KEO on experience twit.
6 Apr 2008, 21:48 pm
ET you the one who is bitching, and by the way he discussing the sharks game with me, so if you like you go to bed.
6 Apr 2008, 21:49 pm
Congrats to the Bok sevens team it was just a matter of time.I cannot see anyone stopping the NZ sevens team from winning an 8th world series title. GO THE KIWIS.
6 Apr 2008, 21:49 pm
sigh***
is the cockraoch still jabbering away ???
i guess there must be fools like that too

6 Apr 2008, 21:50 pm
have to agree marvinb
like we rule world cup rugby
the kiwi’s rule 7′s lol
6 Apr 2008, 21:50 pm
186 you have not answered a single question because you probably cannot. Yet you will claim to be rugby knowing. Poor miscreant and pretender. You will probably run away as you did the other night.
6 Apr 2008, 21:51 pm
ET why cant you be more civil?
6 Apr 2008, 21:51 pm
good god how old is this moron??
6 Apr 2008, 21:52 pm

6 Apr 2008, 21:52 pm

6 Apr 2008, 21:52 pm

I would like you to say that tome in my face East to say thing like that behind your PC monitor.
I know more about rugby than you ever dreamt of.
6 Apr 2008, 21:54 pm

6 Apr 2008, 21:54 pm
As I predicted 195 has run off.
6 Apr 2008, 21:54 pm
Hey Sharks love see how he attacks people.
Brave words from him and he seems to think he knows everthing about rugby and other dont.
Hey ET as I told you before.
Phone home and split.

6 Apr 2008, 21:57 pm

6 Apr 2008, 21:58 pm
Possibly, but i dont think so, he wont do it when all the larger groups are on, and tends to attack people when they are gone.
A real coward.
6 Apr 2008, 21:59 pm
Me too, got better things to do than listen to this ET idiot.

Congrastulations Mr Paul Treu and Co ! You have truely made me eat my words! I was sadly not viewing this timeous achievement and are the poorer for that.
Saw the highlights and can say that we do have some brilliant players in that team.
Please keep it up
Yours

PS pete, never mind the small things (ET) they never did matter
6 Apr 2008, 22:49 pm
203,205 206,209 etc., and your ilk You sad hypocritical, pretentious non-racist ‘wannabes’ you cannot tolerate being exposed for your lack of knowledge simply about rugby matters and think you can fool people with your false words which turn to threats when you behave like a pack of African dogs. I am the mirror and you (pl.) cannot accept your distorted conservative , hypocritical faces in that mirror. So you slander and insult when I am off and I address your distortions mostly in your presence and you cannot handle that since I am smarter than you can handle. Hence you resort to revealing your defective language and comprehension skills and do not address a single opposing viewor thought but you still spew your garbage.
I am still waiting for a single simple rugby answer to the qestions above like your ‘Bok #10 or any other.
6 Apr 2008, 23:57 pm
The people lay scattered
Shot down by hurt
Swords were crossed
And the goodness burnt
Hell roamed senseless
The smoke was thick
Words scarred the landscape
Blood fire was sick
Brother against brother
Pain against pain
The night cut hearts
As it dimmed the flame
I walked through the zone
Of tangled old ghosts
That cried for a sunrise
In the ash of old posts
Polluted poisoned waters
Dis-ease dragging its feet
Anger drew its pistols
Eyes struggled to speak peace
They just shoot off projections
The sins of the fathers
As the dark swamp longs to flow
And release like a river
All I can say at one minute to midnight
Bury the hatchet for once and for all
Lay down your weapons
Break down your walls
Jinx
6 Apr 2008, 23:57 pm
UUHHMMM! What’s going on here? A bit presumptious calling yourself Mr Know-it-all, isn’t it? But I guess we all have a point to drive home.
Heard on the radio how lethargic the Kiwi team were. They were dragging their feet and was always that mtr too slow to the point of brkdwn. And how its not like them at all. Almost as pathetic as the death threats issued to Barnes in Oct.
More to the truth is that it is a mental thing. Kiwi rugby players are a bunch of sissies. Once you get in their faces and are prepared to stay there, they fold. Like a deck of cards and regular like clockwork. The 7′s showed it last nite, France has showed it twice in WC’s, Boks has showed it on occassion. So has the Sharks, Stormers, Bulls Force and Waratahs. It will take them out of the game for about 50-60 minutes and if you are any good with ball in hand, the game should be over by then. Normaly the momentum in the game will shift at that point and if they are still in touch, look out. But the way to beat them is to get in their faces and pressurise them for at least the whole of the 1st hlf.
Hope PdV is getting this. Should take him a long way towards achieving the ‘unthinkable’. Now, does that not show I know a lot of the game!
7 Apr 2008, 00:01 am
Goodnight…
7 Apr 2008, 00:04 am
Just like that, Jinxie! Come back, we’ll chat a bit.
7 Apr 2008, 00:06 am
Hi Bok
7 Apr 2008, 00:16 am
Pietman # 57 – well said. This ET individual insists on being a prize ***, so its our job to congratulate him on reaching his objective.
7 Apr 2008, 00:19 am
Ageed Expat.
7 Apr 2008, 00:35 am
Hey coach! See you had a bit of a run in with an alien! I say put Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones on his ***!
7 Apr 2008, 00:38 am
Yeah the guy is an idiot.
He just comes on to bait people.
I wish there was a way we could get ride of people like him on Keo.
7 Apr 2008, 00:43 am
Hey JE stop being a ****** see ****** do copycat. Your culture surely taught you to spell backside as follows; arse the Oxford English way not as you do. That, american copycat, which you refer to (***), is a donkey. That’s probably what you are and thus accordingly you will stubbornly insist that you are correct.
BTW that other person you discussing washerwoman things with probaly still has his tail between his legs in cowardly fashion.
Give an answer to the Bok #10 question.
then thereafter you and C- Pietie can commence throwing your toys out of your cots with your temper tantrum.
7 Apr 2008, 00:52 am
Well done to you guys.
I didnt watch the game as sevens this year has been a bit one sided but at least the SA 7s know how to beat the NZ 7s team.Keeps the competition a bit more alive i think
7 Apr 2008, 00:56 am
Well Hurricane, there is no doubt that your seven squad is total class, but on an off day are beatable.(this time by and improving boks)
7 Apr 2008, 01:00 am
Just didn’t like DJ Forbes’ show of frustration near the end. Maybe he got too used to winning all the time. Sore loser?
7 Apr 2008, 01:01 am
ET – I just read 212.
Ps make a posting – at you earliest convenience – that will display your deep knowlegde of rugby. Ps refrain from attacking others while doing so, as it will merely distract and prevent folks from identifying that deep knowledge you possess.
Based on what I’ve read to now, the vast majority of folks here ARE in fact smarter than you, so either that’s an accurate assessment, or you have some perception issues.
O, and by the way, I am a white south african, living abroad. More liberal than Obama, with more so-called non-white friends than you have teeth. I guess I just blew your little favorite theory out the water.
Have a great night, sir.
7 Apr 2008, 01:17 am
#223
Hi Coach
Did you see the game at all?
Just asking as did the Kiwis have an off day or did the Boks have a great game.
I am hoping the Boks just had a good game and gave it to us
7 Apr 2008, 02:03 am
Hurricane. You know Setanta sports had it advetised, but showed Aussie rules, so did not see it. I read that your guys made some errors, but you can only play the way your opposition allows you to play, so was possibly more of a good effort by boks.
7 Apr 2008, 02:25 am
They actualy did make some uncharacteristic errors. Never saw them drop that many balls- some evn with tryline beckoning. It could’ve been pressure cause Boks put heaps on them but could’ve been complacency too. Hell, like you said, could even have been ‘Suzie’. I will not put my money on them getting the title as yet. If Boks stick to this approach in future might pay dividends. Fiji also back with a bang. Maybe Serevi’s hand being tipped during the wk got the ’3rd force’ out of the way. You guys saw the points table? Dominated by SH teams. First 6 teams actualy.

No forgot Kenya. So its the first 7. NZ, SA, Fiji, Samoa, Aus, Arg and Kenya. Only then comes ENG and Wales. Wonder what BH makes of that?
7 Apr 2008, 03:40 am
BH went missing just after Scotland gave England a hiding.
But i have seen enough posts from BH to know what he would have said.
#1: The forwards didnt turn up.
#2: England didnt turn up
#3: To many Islanders in the NZ team.
#4: It was to muggy, wet or even fine.
#5: England dont care about sevens anyways.
I could go on to #100 very easily but you get the idea

Morning all rugby gurus!
Good one for the ’7′s.
Ebersohn should be a 15 Springbok in the next year or two, I think.

Hey Pieta
At least you said it and I’m not a self-proclaimed guru as some of the above.
That laaitie is magic. After watching their semi, I expected another Kiwi thrashing in the final but he gave us the start we needed. From there, the Kiwi’s were on the backfoot all the way!

I saw the Ebersohn twins at the Craven Week last year (on KuduClub). They, with that Peterson fullback who know plays for Maties, were almost singularly responsible for thrashing WP 50-3 in the final!
Watch out for Peterson as well, he is the new JPP of SA rugby.

When a white S.African(and there is nothing by the way about it that’s why I called you an ameri. copycat)has to claim being liberal and ,in addition, shout from the rooftops ‘ with more so-called non-white friends than you have……’ then you really have to be desperate, hypocritical and now a serious closet supporter of backward conservative era our country has been forced to leave behind out of amongst many other things, shame.
7 Apr 2008, 06:43 am
And if you’re not a white and you’re a dreamer, you imagine that a bunch of no-goods in the old SARU might ever have been good enough to be Boks. Just because they were biggish-looking fish in a tiny cabbage-patch of a pond. And their story grows taller and taller with every exaggerated re-telling.

What sensational rugby. That Kiwi side is superb lets face it, but our boys made us so proud.
As Niel Powell said afterwards, you show your character in your defense and that is what these guys did. They tackled like demons, and looked red hot on defense.
Ebherson was SENSATIONAL again. Breaking three KZ tackles, and sprinting into the corner? 6 months ago he was in a school uniform !
Renfred Dazel was also marvelous. He is a really smart player who has bulked up nicely.
all i can say is WELL DONE BOYS !!
Ps – Juries is now a Free Stater, so is Ebherson, and Powell is a born and bread Bloem boy. ALLES IN DIE KOL AS DIE CHEETAH HOL

I just put my congrats in on the other thread but congrats again
7 Apr 2008, 07:27 am
235 ***** Tackler! They won and won well. Why are you putting the boot in?
7 Apr 2008, 07:28 am
Thanks Church, but the Kiwis also deserve congrats for having an amazing winning record. Felt very sorry for Steven Yates who I seriously rate as a 7′s player.
7 Apr 2008, 07:43 am
239 Cheetha Champs,
Cheers. The idiot NZ interviewer told Yates “good luck for your preperation for the next round of sevens” …. Yates said thanks
Pitty, yates was listed as a possible Crusader in November and now he is gone

Eberhson is a special talent no doubt about that. But lets not jump the gun.
Earl Rose was the best Craven player I’ve ever seen,a superstar in waiting…
Where is he now?
Just bringing sum perspective..
PS.Fabian Juries is a freak sevens athlete,he missed nearly 2 yrs of the scene but he is still in the top 3 try scorers of ALL TIME…He’s only 25yrs old…
He’s Serevi to SA.Ranfred Dazzel is another making a name for himself.

#196 You cannot compare 8 years of dominance in IRB World sevens series rugby to a few weeks in France as “like we rule world cup rugby” thats quite funny on how you believe they are the same. But I must admit the South African teams are playing some excellent rugby and are alot more competitive than in the pass I guess being World Champions has had a trickle down affect to the lower graded teams. But then you guys do have 200,000 registered senior men rugby players compared to NZ 21,000.

If Im not mistaken France have more pro player than SA(Top 14,second division etc)
They still dont have our record
SA’s population is 47 million-so will would naturally hav more
7 Apr 2008, 10:57 am
Mentally NZ was never in this tourno. After winning HK and having already clinched the IRB 7′s.How was GT going to motivate them.Good on SA for winning in Adelaide. What SA 7′s need to do is take the play out wide and not confront NZ physically, when you do that the likes of Forbes,Cocker and Yates will keep 2 defenders busy leaving Vito and some of the other NZ speedsters one on one with SA’s smaller backs.

#244 I wasnt comparing France I was comparing NZ to South Africa in the sense of what #196 stated have a look. And yes South Africa are strong in Rugby but what I am saying is they should be strong its their national sport and with France it isnt.I admire Bok rugby but Im a Kiwi so I support my little country because we are always outnumbered.
Have your say
