Mortlock returns for Brumbies

Brumbies captain Stirling Mortlock has recovered from concussion against the Blues and will start against the Lions on Friday.

Mortlock will start in his preferred outside centre position with Adam Ashley-Cooper moving to the wing. The only other change sees hooker John Ulugia replace Saia Faingaa.

Recently-axed coach Laurie Fisher told the AAP that he was happy with the Brumbies’ last two wins, but knows they have to keep up their intensity and win the final home game of the season.

“It has been pleasing to see the attitude and self belief that the side has approached the last two matches with,” said Fisher.

“There have been a lot of pleasing aspects from our last two performances and its very important that we continue to build on that confidence and take our game forward over the final four rounds of the competition.”
