Wasps down Bath
17 May 2008
Wasps reached the Premiership final after a 21-10 win over Bath.
The victory was however marred by star flyhalf Danny Cipriani’s injury when he left the field with 30 minutes to go with a suspected dislocated ankle. The extent of the injury will be confirmed tomorrow but it is likely he will miss England’s tour of New Zealand.
Wasps will face Leicester on May 31 after the Tigers beat Gloucester 26-25 courtesy of a 78th minute drop-kick from flyhalf Andy Goode. This capped off a great comeback from Leicester, who trailed 12-3 at the break, but tries from Alesana Tuilagi and Aaron Mauger sparked the revival.

Matt Stevens is starting to look like a world class prop, but Pat Barnard just doens’t do it justice anymore. Needed injuries in the squad to get a start, got pulled off just after half-time.

Good game, Bath just couldn’t get through the Shaun Edwards’s coached blitz defence. Cipriani’s ankle is wrecked.

Who gives a toss, he’s no great loss, plenty of others who can do the job, mind you they are going to get slaughtered

Cipriani is a player of unlimited potential, some say he’s already world class, world class players aren’t easily replaceable. Look how NZ are crying about Dan Carter and he hasn’t even gone yet.

Shouldn’t the headline be “Wasps down Butch”? I recall Butch James getting all the credit for Bath victories but no mention of him in a crucial loss.

Your a being pathetic! Its his first year there. The guy did wonders with the club who are playing better rugby after being nowhere for years.

#6 THE MAULER
Perhaps you don’t get what I’m saying. This website gave him all the credit for Bath victories but now they don’t even mention his name.
It’s not a post against James but against the website and their way of reporting.

Just to let you know RATEL…. This season is the first time in 10 years that Bath has made it to a semi final. Does that not tell you anything? Claassens and James are the best thing thats happened to Bath in a long time… So you can’t point fingers at fault… Its a team effort not a one-man game!!!
Have your say
