Kiwis claim Plate

Kiwis claim Plate

New Zealand won the final of the Plate competition after they beat the Springbok Sevens team 19-12 in London.

The Boks couldn’t repeat their victory over the New Zealanders in Adelaide, and this time they were severely bullied at the breakdown. They conceded numerous penalties, couldn’t get quick ball to free up their backs, while Vuyo Zangqa was also yellow-carded for repeated infringements at the rucks.

Samoa beat Fiji 19-14 in the Cup final.

i was at this event, atmosphere was great, pity the springboks weren’t. Man they were shocking at stages. Why are we investing money in these guys? they clearly are not taking this seriously.

Yeah plates arent the best, but at least 95% of the time NZ make the finals and 5% of the time the plates, unlike some other teams a Big Hit

Grant, they are not and never will be called the AllBlacks, they are our national 7′s team, no more no less

I thought that Paul Treu had contarcted permanent players now? But here we are with a whole new set of faces at the end of the year?

I would rather have a team of no-name brands who are used to playing with each other and have a good dfensive system, than a bunch of superstars who have only met each other on the team bus on the way over…

#6 CHAZ: the first time we ever pick a decent 7s side and we beat the chumps

they may as well be the All Blacks since they get knocked out in Qtrs too :)

#3 Hurricane: yawn, beaten by England in game we don’t even take seriously

With the whole series already won, the NZ coach and selectors can pick all their hopefuls and possible and maybes and give them a hit-out at this level to see who can swim and who will sink.

lol, yeah you dont take it seriously cos you dont win many finals, but when the odd win comes along we find you on here posting away.
Do you take 15 aside rugby seriously to?
If you do then losing to Scotland and Wales of late must really get up ya

:) excuses tackler, the NZ 7s side got torn apart by a Leeds Tykes winger, the only reason they won the series is because no country from the NH takes it seriously

#10 Hurricane: at least we get to finals, Kiwis are perpetually stuck in quarters, I expect no different in 2011

Honestly if NH dont take it seriously why send a team? IT cost alot of money to send a 7′s team all over the world,so going on that you are wrong on saying that its not taken seriously in the NH.So what number excuse is that Big Hit in your book.

And those three poxy islands have made fools of England many times and will keep doing it gladly due to the fact that their are fans like you Big Hit living in dull England.

Let us not forget that SA was conned in this game… by the ref! Every single 50/50 decision bar 1 went the way of the Kiwi’s most notably the last 1 where James/Jones or whatever the hell his name is went completely the other way in not awarding the penalty for not releasing. Think Kiwi’s actualy scored the winning try from this. Even the ‘neutral’ commentator, by the sound of it who was from Scotland, noticed it. Same sorta thing in the final where Fiji’s winning try disallowed by another inept decision, this time by touchjudge. What’s happening to global standard of reffing. Mind you, it figures when you put a mediocre ref in his heyday in charge! The sooner the IRB gets rid of Paddy the better!

Just ignore big **** – I think he is stephen jones. If I am correct he is an engish wannabe – if not he is a typical inferiority complexed english prat. England did not even win the plate despite their “world beating” team – but I suppose any win is a win.
