Boks booted out

Argentina dumped the Springboks Sevens team out of the Cup competition in London.

The Pumas won 12-0 after they scored two first-half tries to see them through to the semis, where they will play Fiji. Hosts England also knocked out tournament leaders New Zealand after a thrilling 17-12 victory. The English will now face Samoa in the other semi.

The Boks are now resigned to playing in the Plate section, where they will face Scotland.

SA v NZ is the Plate Final

The 6 points that South Africa have earned is enough to keep them in 2nd place for now (until the final round in Scotland)

  • 36.skopskiet: Reply to this comment

Oh well 6th is not that great an achievement after all, Fiji, Samoa, NZ, Argentina, England finishing ahead of us.

If these Island boys could develop some forward techniques they would all be unstoppable at the 15 man game as well, super athletic players with good running and handling skills to boot.

Watch out for Fiji, Samoa and Tonga for 2011. Maybe they should combine to form 1 WC side to compete at WC 2011, they could provide guite a formidable challenge.

Unfortunite double dodgy tackles but all accidental …. game being played in good spirits. Long injury stoppage for sevens
