Kolkata pinch victory from Punjab
25 May 2008
An under pressure 86* from Sourav Ganguly guided the Kolkata Knight Riders to a three wicket victory over the Kings XI Punjab.
Punjab posted a competitive 174 thanks in large part to in form Australian Shaun Marsh (40) and Sri Lankan Kumar Sangakkara (64). A good bowling display from Umar Gul (4-23) kept the run-rate from from skyrocketing and ultimately proved to be decisive in the victory, which came with just two balls remaining.
However, the majority of the plaudits have to go to the Prince of Kolkata for a superb innings under significant pressure. He took just 53 deliveries to accumulate his runs and was ably supported by Gul (24).

Sourav well played.
Keo, why are there no threads on the W.Indies/Aussies or on Eng/NZ test matches? Surely more important than the IPL.

Both tests are intriguing but the poms unfortunately now really have the upper hand over the fast becoming spineless kiwis.
