Wasps tame Tigers
31 May 2008
Wasps have won the English Premiership, beating Leicester’s Tigers 26-16.
The win also gave Wasps captain and former England international Lawrence Dallaglio the perfect send-off.
SkySports reports the Londoners looked set for a comfortable victory after dominating the first-half, with tries from Tom Rees and Josh Lewsey ensuring they went in at the interval with a commanding 23-6 lead.
Mark Van Gisbergen’s third penalty nine minutes from time settled Wasps’ nerves and they closed out the match with relative ease to ensure Dallaglio went out on a high.

Uncontested scrums are a travesty. At least give BOTH sides the opportunity to replace their heavies with quick guys …

Thought Haskell was outstanding, particularly in the first half – Tigers couldn’t play through more than 2 phases before he pinched the ball at the tackle-area. Decent game 2nd half, please someone tell me why Leicester persist with Andy Goode – he is the “Liefling” of Leicester!

Good game though.
I have now seen two Guiness Premiership Finals and Leicester were in both and Andy Goode were in both and they lost both.

You crack me up. “Andy Goode – he is the “Liefling” of Leicester!”
That’s beyond funny. I’m finished. What a laugh. The Liefling of Leicester!!! Please sign up for your new job as a stand out stand up comedian.
Is Dallaglio a Doris Day or a Ginger Beer? Both methinks.
Dallaglio will no doubt go a celebrate shnarfing some “charlie” with the lads.
Have your say
