The injury-hit All Blacks have called up three reinforcements, including Piri Weepu.
The out-of-favour Weepu has been on duty with the New Zealand Maori squad and will be included in the match 22 if either one of the All Blacks current scrumhalves fail to recovery from their injuries.
Weepu will be joined by Hawke’s Bay hooker Hikawera Elliot as cover for Andrew Hore who is recovering from a bruised hip, along with Auckland scrumhalf Taniela Moa as both Andy Ellis (ribs) and Jimmy Cowan (knee and broken nose) are injury concerns ahead of the second leg of the Bledisloe Cup.
Elliot, 22, has played just 26 matches for Hawke’s Bay and this year broke into the Hurricanes Super 14 squad and was a member of the New Zealand Maori side.
Flanker Daniel Braid remains with the squad as cover for skipper Richie McCaw who is expected to return to action this week.
