Cyberspace mag? You decide
22 Sep 2008
Would you be interested in subscribing to an online edition of SA Rugby magazine?
Please visit http://www.keo.co.za/pages/ for a sample of an online edition and let us know what you think.
If you live in SA would you rather read the mag online or in print? And how much would you be prepared to pay for the online version?
How many of you who live overseas, and aren’t prepared to pay for a print subscription, would consider the online version instead?

As on overseas person I would be interested in subscribing online.
22 Sep 2008, 07:15 am
I would really be interested in posting on the new Bulls thread. Why are the comments off?

Cyberspace mag?
No thanks – specially if it is all “cut&pasted” from other sites/journalists.
22 Sep 2008, 07:19 am
Will it be cheaper? There are no printing and postage costs?
22 Sep 2008, 07:20 am
It’s hardly a “cyberspace mag” if it’s just copied PDF’s from the original magazine. There’s a reason why web layout is different to print layout. Anyway, a website IS a “cyberspace mag” (just without the geeky moniker).
22 Sep 2008, 07:20 am
Definitely very interested if it’s coming over at a pretty decent price.
Yes, it’ll be great if it was free, but not everything off the internet needs to be totally free to be worth it.
22 Sep 2008, 07:43 am
I am based in Hong Kong, will definately subscribe. SA rugby is such soap story that it will be great to have a online mag. Beat’s paging through some blogger stuff to get useless often inaccurate info.
22 Sep 2008, 07:45 am
Yes I would because after 6 emails to your subscription section without ANY replies, seems this will be the only way to get the mag overseas.
22 Sep 2008, 07:51 am
why comments closed on…bulls bank on help from foes…..? Swings and roundabouts..If Province makes it into the semi’s you can bet your bottom dollar they are going to kick butt – no matter where it is played. After been down and out the pride and joy of SA rugby is back….
22 Sep 2008, 07:55 am
Great stuff, 1 US dollar per month for the online version and Im in
22 Sep 2008, 07:55 am
If it’s online, what will I read while I’m on the throne?

I would subscribe but only if able to print the whole magazine to take away and read on the trains. I’m guessing the ability to only do one page at a time is for the demo.
22 Sep 2008, 07:57 am
Absolutely.
The cost of international shipping makes the mag prohibitively expensive.
22 Sep 2008, 08:00 am
#15 Sucaballuc: I suppose thats if you can get them to actually send you the mag…
22 Sep 2008, 08:12 am
Yes, I would pay for an online subscription. Very convenient, and no postal delays. I am now in the position of asking my family to buy me a monthly copy, which means I only get to read them all when I come back to SA for christmas…
22 Sep 2008, 08:16 am
One thing though – I looked at the download option, which seems pretty daft, you can only download one page at a time. A consolidated PDF would be great.
22 Sep 2008, 08:17 am
Oh, and being able to purchase electronic “back copies” in the archives would be good as well.
22 Sep 2008, 08:21 am
I wouldnt go for the online mag – I prefer the print.
22 Sep 2008, 08:24 am
Sure will…..
22 Sep 2008, 08:25 am
# Staal:
Beg to differ….
If the Sharks beat the Lions and a week later the WP beat them…. Its a Bulls WP semi….
22 Sep 2008, 08:28 am
Infact if the Lions beat us… then they will end 3rd… meaning the WP still play the Bulls…
22 Sep 2008, 08:30 am
Ah…. nobody wants to play with me….
22 Sep 2008, 08:31 am
I registered Just to Say : YES PLEASE!
22 Sep 2008, 08:35 am
Nah!
Can’t take the laptop to the crapper or read it in bed.
I’ll stick with the hard-copy.

#26 blhoo:
Well techically you can – you are just not allowed to
22 Sep 2008, 08:40 am
sure, but make sure it is compatible with ebook format so it can be read on iphone etc. searchable, indexed archive would be nifty as well.
22 Sep 2008, 08:44 am
i like it…good for the environment as well…keo-friendly go-green

Would be nice; could log in via my phone anywhere and read my magazine
22 Sep 2008, 08:48 am
Yes, I would be interested in subscribing, HOWEVER, what worries me is the accuracy of some of your articles. For example, Saterday Grant Ball indicated in his article on the KEO website that the Lions won 29 – 10 against Boland whilst the score was actually 31 -10. Yes, I know the difference is only 2 points, but it is still INCORRECT information. This was also not the first time KEO indicated incorrect scores on its website. Please be careful as many rugby fanatics need the correct scores.

do something in conjunction with kuduclub? are they affiliated?

#32 Bullsmaakseer:
Yip and Ryan also said the Cheetahs got 7 when infact they got 5…..
22 Sep 2008, 09:05 am
#34 THE MAULER: Hey, we need all the points that we can get.
22 Sep 2008, 09:18 am
Nicely setup, but still need a printed mag! Nothing beats that.
22 Sep 2008, 09:19 am
#35 Loosehead: I don’t mind the score as I watch myself.
Can’t stand Keo making predictions, especially that the Bulls will win.
He always puts a jinx on them.
22 Sep 2008, 09:23 am
I would like to subscribe to this magazine although I do not like the way it has presented. You should just do it as a series of HTML pages. The current pages show up in a strange way in my browser (firefox).
22 Sep 2008, 09:23 am
#37 blhoo: He sadly got it right last week.
22 Sep 2008, 09:38 am
I think its a brilliant idea for the overseas guys, but for me personally, I prefer getting a magazine in print, and aging through it. Reading the mag, paging through it for me is much better than reading an online version.
22 Sep 2008, 09:45 am
#39 Loosehead: Sure. but 1/100 ain’t good.
22 Sep 2008, 09:47 am
no becuse it’ll use up too many mb’s to download so i’ll end up paying more. prefer the mag
22 Sep 2008, 09:49 am
#35 Loosehead:
hehe
22 Sep 2008, 09:58 am
It’s way too slow mate 7 that’s on a commercial cable connection.
22 Sep 2008, 10:02 am
How will you prevent it getting emailed around once someone bought it? (if it’s downloadable)
Anyway I live in SA and I wouldn’t be interested in the online version
22 Sep 2008, 10:02 am
#40 Craig Goosen: easier on the eyes too.
22 Sep 2008, 10:07 am
If I were to subscribe I would like to be able to download the whole mag in one pdf, not per page as it currently stands. I would also insist on being able to download it, cause if I pay, I want to be able to view anytime anywhere.
22 Sep 2008, 10:09 am
It will be a bit inconvenient to have to take your laptop to the crapper for a good read…
22 Sep 2008, 10:15 am
There’s nothing better than buying the mag every month! How are you going to read it in the bath:)
22 Sep 2008, 10:21 am
#46 the peanut gallery:
Absolutely. I enjoy reading online articles, but a physical magizine is much better
