Kaplan at centre of domestic finale
6 Oct 2008
Jonathan Kaplan has been appointed to referee the 2008 Absa Currie Cup final.
Saru announced the appointment on Monday and confirmed the decision came down to Kaplan and respected counterpart Mark Lawrence. Saru president Regan Hoskins and the SA Referee’s executive made the final call and various coaches were also consulted.
Lawrence will ref the semi-final between the Sharks and Lions while Craig Joubert will handle the second play-off in Pretoria.

#150 carol meredith: Not had the deer, but on one of the narrow countrylanes my satnav took me today, I saw the most beautiful hawk sitting on a telephonepole. That and 20 cows staring at me…
Anyway, need to get some sleep. Nice to talk to you, see you around on keo! (trying very hard to not get hooked again!)

As long as Linston has nothing to do with the game. He is USELESS. He gets at least one tv call per game wrong. It is so bad that the ref often questions his calls – refer back to Sharks vs Bulls at Loftus after Tiger scored a try from an extremely forward pass from Wynand. Yes, it had no bearing on match result but it highlights his incompetence.

I’m happy provided Linton and Shaun Veldsman stay as far from the stadium as possible…any chance of sending them to Iceland for the day??
