The Wallabies have been forced to select rookie lock Peter Kimlin in place of the injured James Horwill.
Horwill was last week ruled out of the tour to Hong Kong (for the final Bledisloe Cup fixture) and Europe due to a foot injury.
Coach Robbie Deans says the Brumbies’ Kimlin was always in their plans, but admitted the enforced promotion came earlier than expected. “The opportunity for Peter has come a little bit earlier than we had perhaps anticipated, but he is certainly a player that we were looking to promote,” said Deans.
Kimlin made his Super 14 debut last year, and appeared in every match of the Brumbies campaign this year – with 12 of the 13 match from the bench however.
