Visagie celebrates century with Sarries win
26 Oct 2008
Former Springbok prop Cobus Visagie’s 100th match for English side Saracens was marked with a 33-19 victory over Northampton which keeps their EDF Energy Cup play-off hopes alive.
Visagie, who has enjoyed a very successful career with Saracens since leaving South Africa, is currently involved in a player/assistant coach capacity and would have been pleased with the victory which reignited hopes of a semi-final berth.
They now need to win their final Pool D match at the struggling Bristol next Saturday and rely on Northampton beating group leaders Scarlets for the outcome to be decided on bonus points.
Meanwhile, a stunning solo effort from Welsh star Gavin Henson moved Osprey’s closer to a semi-final place.
Henson carved open Worcester’s defence just before half-time in a 40m run that featured him leaving former Australia fullback Chris Latham for dead. Fly-half James Hook kicked 17 points.

Ryan, I truely appreciate the international news but we need you guys to sharpen up on one or two things. For starters – in what competion is it that Ospreys beat Worcester? I am pretty sure that it wasn’t the (English) Energy Cup…

‘is currently involved in a player/assistant coach capacity’. This guy would make a great Scrum coach for the Boks!
