Toulon call on Connolly
2 Nov 2008
Former Wallabies coach John Connolly has replaced Jean-Jacques Crenca as forwards coach of Top 14 battlers Toulon.
The big-spending French club will welcome Connolly to town on Monday. Toulon recently went down 42-20 to Montauban, a scoreline that flattered Toulon given they scored three late tries.
Toulon owner Mourad Boudjellal believes the appointment could provide the solution to the club’s problems. Toulon currently sit at 12th on the Top 14 table.

Oh right, I watched that game on Friday night against Montauban and Toulon did get hammered, but my word Joe Van Niekerk had a cracker of a game! Skeate came on for them in first appearance too and I’m sure both our boys will enjoy playing under Connolly.

#4 Yetirat: I didn’t see the game, heard it was a bit of a try-fest. Joe always had the talent, just blasted injuries getting in the way. Skeate is England qualified isn’t he? how good is he?
Have your say
