Sheridan to miss SA clash

England loosehead and enforcer in the pack Andrew Sheridan has been ruled out of the Bok clash with a neck injury.

Sheridan has been struggling all week with his fitness and he’ll be replaced by Wasps prop Tim Payne, who initially wasn’t even in the 22. Sheridan suffered the injury last week in the 28-14 loss to Australia.

The omission of Sheridan is a massive psychological blow to the entire English team.

Payne has won eight caps for England, his last appearance coming on the recent tour to New Zealand, when he again deputised for Sheridan who had suffered a cut to the eye.
