Wikus scores but loses
23 Nov 2008
Wikus van Heerden scored for Saracens in his first start for the club but they still went down 27-14 to London Irish.
The former Bulls flanker was on the bench last week, and while his try had Sarries 11-8 ahead, the Exiles dominated from there to claim the win. Tom Homer, who is only 18, scored two tries as Irish pulled clear and at the same time went second on the log.
Wasps came close to what would have been only their second Premiership win of the season, but Sale edged ahead 13-12. Charlie Hodgson converted Mark Cueto’s 76th minute try to sneak the victory.
