Sharks topple Tigers
29 Nov 2008
Heyneke Meyer’s Leicester Tigers spurned an opportunity to go top of the Premiership, losing 27-13 to the Sale Sharks.
After a strong start the Tigers are slipping down the table and currently find themselves in fifth position, four points off leaders Bath, who have a game in hand.
The Tigers were never in the game, trailing 17-0 after 30 minutes, and despite a better second half effort the damage had already been inflicted.
Meanwhile, Charlie Beech’s 79th-minute try secured a much-needed win for struggling Wasps. The defending champions currently find themselves in ninth position thanks to a poor start to their campaign.

#138 Big Hit: what would the game be without characters like Lawrence? He was larger than life with the result he made a big target. We miss him. But I’d have to agree with your examples. Over the years there have been some great English players, which are invited to visit here from time to time and are hugely respected. Johnson, Wilcoand Robertson would certainly fall into that category.

#147 carol: A far prettier ‘bloke’ I’d imagine.
I’m a grape juice boy myself. The alcoholic variety. Quit beer some time ago for no other reason than taste and satisfaction. Strange as it may seem.

#114 Big Hit:
i am glad someone said that. i remmember watching the game in a pub in islington and the palpable zealish attitudes of the english fans left a lasting impressin. labuschagne did not deserve a yellow, and as good a player as Wilko is, he hammed that up. Kriege was also targetted OTT imo. He was made out to be a thug, which i do not believe is the case, but perhaps my SA bias gets the better of me here. Thing bout Krige, like Johnson, he gave 100% every game.
