Chris Rossouw has retired from rugby following a series of concussions.
The Cheetahs flyhalf suffered the latest blow in the Absa Currie Cup and was forced to miss the remainder of the tournament. Rossouw confirmed that he had consulted specialists who warned of permanent brain damage should he sustain another heavy blow.
Rossouw was set to play a prominent role for the Cheetahs in the Super 14 but will now assess his options. He intimated that he would be keen to stay in rugby in a coaching capacity and said that he would remain in Bloemfontein for the foreseeable future.
