SA set up Dubai rematch

South Africa will face England in the Cup quarter-final of the George Sevens on Saturday in a repeat of last week’s final in Dubai.

In the final match of their pool the Sevens Boks saw off the challenge of a tough Australian side to seal top spot. The Sevens Boks were 7-5 down at half-time, but fought back well in the second and tries from Rennie Dezel and Gio Aplon secured a 17-7 win over the Wallabies.

Earlier in the day four first half tries including a hat-trick from Robert Ebershon helped South Africa to an easy victory of Georgia, while two tries in either half was enough to overcome the USA.

In the other big game of the day, New Zealand came from behind to beat England to set up a clash with the USA, who upset Australia earlier in the day.

This is not the correct thread for this observation but nevertheless thought it may be appropriate to voice it out here

How you like that diabolical performance by the Baa baas on Wednesday?

Now I know this debate may have been thrashed out already but I reckon some overrated second graders might have gotten off scott free seeing as their intentions were to upstage and prove a point, its about time somebody called their hapless bluff and pulled some wool back from all the shrouded delinquent eyes around the place.

Jake White and Eddy Jones fluffed it big time on the supposed free range Barbarian stage, what was suppose to be a festival game of running Barbarian style rugby turned into a failed attempt to show the world how the two stooges with all their bridled blue eyed wonder boys would destroy the weakened Australian team.

How appropriate that divine providence or divine retribution happened to step into the fray, just as it did 13 odd months ago in Paris to dish these two some heady world renowned recognition, it now decides to set the record straight and even out all those ripples on the surface of the ego tract playing fields of mad hapless ambitions.

Half the SA players should not even have taken the stage, there are plenty worthy international stars who could have contributed a whole lot better, someone like Hernandez at fly half just as one example comes to mind, and Blair at 9, or Byrne at 15, and the young Irishman at 12, how about hooker, what on earth gets into these mad ambitious minds to play Smit and McCaw and Burger and De Villiers all in the same team, and then still lose to a bunch of rookies.

Yeah I reckon divine providence had its fair share of the dice thrown in this little shenanigan.

These two jesters were going to put the worlds best up against the mediocre Aussies and thrash them into eternity, and so try and prove just how wrong PdV has been for not playing Steyn at 10, or upstage him and show the dominance of the WC trailblazing stars over Deans’ young charges.

It all went tits up and pear shaped, and the good old leveler of ego’s came to the party big time and set the record straight, and showed again just how fortuitous their little twosome escapades in 2007 were.

It also showed when push comes to shove just like it has so many times before, that JW don’t have a clue, and that is the reason no wonder that he needs his pals out there to pave a way for a belated rugby coaching post somewhere in this minute shrinking rugby village.

#167 heckle_jeckyl: Hello Heckle,I was there and I think you have to take into concideration the Babas had two practices, the team had a few “weak links”,I think George Smith and a few others were alowed huge liberties on the infringing deal. There seemed a few tired and rusty players out there.Schalk was his usual self and threw himself at everything and i think the young Ozzies deserve a bit of credit for being up for that game big time.

#167 heckle_jeckyl: Skopskiet. I don’t see how you jump to all those ludicrous conclusions when the Baa Baas had 2 training practices before the game.

I don’t think that the loss magically means that JW and Eddie Jones “don’t have a clue” and all the rest you suggest. Given your well documented prejudices towards JW, your post is however very predictable.

So it’s -13C this morning and my brain still doesn’t work so well. So nothing has changed. Just goes to show you can survive any weather with enough booze to work as anti-freeze.

If I was in the IRB and such like gin-swilling, whiskey sniffing brandy & coke quaffing climes I would do some of these things:

Can we please have one set of global rules.
Can we get closer to a harmonized season so we don’t have to put up with fake tours in June.
Can we look at the points scored as an opportunity to reward tries more (and stop Frans Steyn from perpetually drop kicking)
    Why not have a Champions League for S14 & Heineken/Guinness/Magnersetc top 2’s
A World Series involving the 6N & 3N + Argentina (and adding Argentina to one of 6 or 3N).
Get 7 a side in to the Olympics.

And a sincere and honest energized attempt to take rugby truly global.

And take SA to task for continued political and racist interference in the game.

This is becoming a tiring and thankless crusade but nevertheless lets keep the objectives sharp and clear.

    #169 oxfordshark:
    #170 wooden spoon:
All the more reason for playing international stars like I suggested and not these overplayed and tired 2007 WC stars like Smit, Burger, De Villiers, McCaw, Du Preez, Burger etc, etc

This was a failed attempt at a claim for recognition and an opportunity to upstage current Springbok coaches as out of their depths

It turned full circle, the upstage backfired through the wrong choices of personnel, Steyn, FdP the two worst culprits, Smit, De Villiers, McCaw not much better on the day.

Also had PdV been the coach of that arsenal of players and lost, can any one of you imagine the incessant outcry for blood and guts for garters on these threads, instead you indoctrinated bias filled hypocrits can’t see the reality of the situation.

Last years thrown together Baa baas taught JW a lesson in continuous creative rugby, this year he tried showing the world how the big deals go about decimating an ordinary Aussie team.

Well in the final analysis guess who the joke is on, and guess who comes up showing what a dire useless palooka he is once again?

PdV, Gatland, Deans, Haddon, Mallet you name it, any one of those coaches with that amount of fire power and talent available would have destroyed that Aussie team, not so the two WC winning delinquents, they showed exactly how not to go about a Barbarans game.

They went out their with all guns blazing to show the world what it had been missing since their self created absence, and in the end the reality bit home deep. These two were pretty lucky previously and sometimes luck like lightening don’t always strike at the same place twice.

#175 “This was a failed attempt at a claim for recognition and an opportunity to upstage current Springbok coaches as out of their depths”

Really? Reeeeaaaallly? When did JW and EJ state that they wanted to upstage or prove PDV wrong? What a ludicrous and insecure notion.

Rather ridiculously it seems, a select core of bloggers seem to equate anything and everything these days as an attack on PDV… It’s time people started to realise that the whole world isn’t out to get PDV

Had PdV been the coach of that crowd of Barbarian players and lost, I have absolutely zero doubt its you very conveniently hypocritical excuse makers that would be lining him up in your sights of indoctrinated bias filled bazookas.

like I said chew on it hard and if you find it difficult digesting it, its not so much the content of the cud thats disturbing you, its the lack of objective digestive tract that is embowled within your bias lined bellies.

One does not have to say anything publicly, all you have to do is think it and try acting on it. The obviousness of the intention is pretty loud and clear to some, obviously not to those blinded through indoctrinated perceptions.

It hardly takes any little analysis to see very clearly how certain minds in this world think, you may believe in your poorly defense oriented misrepresented blind observations that there was no ulterior intentions in selecting a team with half the WC winning boks in it and Steyn at 10 as well as McCaw and Smit and Burger and Collins and Botha all going to hammer the weakened Aussies into submission and oblivion.

The egocentric intentions are clear as daylight to those willing to open their non White washed eyes, obviously those of you who prefer to remain as blind as dumb *** bats, be my guest.
