Barritt stars in Sarries victory
11 Jan 2009
Bradley Barritt scored a try in Saracens’ convincing 37-13 win over Bristol at Vicarage Road.
This was Barritt’s first opportunity to start since moving to London after last year’s Currie Cup, but he enjoyed the game-time as his 15th minute score helped Sarries build their lead. Bristol are now firmly entrenched at the bottom of the table, while Saracens are in sixth.
Former UCT winger Mat Turner also got a rare chance to start for Bristol, but he didn’t receive much quality ball.
Bristol’s fellow relegation candidates Newcastle denied Gloucester the chance to go top of the log with their surprise 10-7 win. Danny Williams was the hero for Newcastle as his try temporarily eased the pressure on the club.
