Tindall out to restore respect
England centre Mike TIndall stressed that England need to recapture the aura they once had.
The Poms have regressed badly over the last six years, despite making the final of the 2007 World Cup.
Tindall, who was part of the all-conquering England side of the early 2000s, acknowledged this, and was adamant that they needed to restore respect for England amongst their opponents.
He said there is no better way to achieve that than with victory over Wales in Cardiff.
“At the moment, we need complete humility, complete respect for other teams,” Tindall said. “Other teams don’t come out saying that the one side they need to beat is England, so we have to go out and get them, be hungry to beat them.
“Realistically, we are underdogs this weekend so we have to go out and show people they’re wrong. But if we make the little errors that were made against Italy, in contact games that can affect the next four or five phases. Once we get over the gain line, once we play off quick ball, then we can play heads-up rugby – there’s such a fine line between brilliance and averageness.”
