Nokwe still sidelined

Jongi Nokwe is still battling with a hand injury and will miss the Cheetahs’ first tour match against the Force.

The Springbok winger was pulled from the starting line-up ahead of last week’s opener against the Lions. The Cheetahs medical staff have confirmed Nokwe is not ready to return and so the Cheetahs will be without their best attacking player against the Force.

Bjorn Basson started in Nokwe’s stead last week but the first tour match will see the Griquas gas-man playing from the bench. Fabian Juries will start on the right wing.

As reported on keo.co.za last Saturday, Corne Uys is unavailable due to concussion and will be replaced by Piet van Zyl at No 13. Hanno Coetzee comes onto the bench as a result.
