Bulls fail in bid for Jaco

Japanese club NEC has rejected an offer from the Bulls to utilise Jaco van der Westhuyzen during the Super 14.

Van der Westhuyzen was recruited in 2007 and played a central role in their Super 14 success. However, NEC feel their prized asset requires a break in their off season and have opted to decline an offer for the former Springbok utility back.

“The Blue Bulls Company (Pty) Ltd did everything within their power to secure the services of Van der Westhuyzen and they will make another effort in the next couple of days to sign him, but at the end we will have to respect NEC’s final decision,” the Bulls said in a press release.

when someone mentions jaco vd westhuizen i suddenly think,”dom, aus 49- sa 0 and jumping on top of poles” yessus they must leave him there…they probably want him because he prays the loudest & the longest!

Speaking of praying it was quite funny/ ironic listening to baakies while accepting his man of the match award, saying ”i’d like to the God for giving me the strength” – when he is arguably one of the most underhanded players in s14…

Leave the players personal beliefs out of this. They haven’t asked any of you for a damn thing in this regards.

As for JvW, why oh why do we want him?

Morne and Zane are on top of their game and personally I would like to see young Francis get more time against one of the weaker teams, for example this coming weekend…..

#11 blhoo: I agree- why on earth would you want Mr ‘I drop Kick From My 22′ back?

He is old, not particularly fast, not particularly good on defence. In fact not particularly good! He can kick, but often has brain explosions as well.

Zane beats him hands down! I reckon Zane is almost beating the door down for Bok selection.
    I rate him over Jantjes.

Moses was actually not too shabby in the Bulls 2007 Super 14 campaign. He scored a very good try in the 92-3 Red’s massacre at Loftus that year. But why he had to pull a Tom Cruise act by climbing the posts when the Bulls won the trophy, only he would know – that was where he lost Brownie points big time.
