Chiliboy Ralepelle has been named in the Bulls’ team for their derby against the Lions.
Saturday’s match will be Ralepelle’s first Super 14 start and is the only change to the Bulls’ XV. Tighthead Rayno Gerber has recovered from his groin injury and will come off the bench for the first time this season.
Coach Frans Ludeke said Ralepelle’s inclusion was due to rotation, while Gerber’s impact will help negate the physicality of the Lions.
“In order to do well in the Super 14 you need two first-rate players in each position,” said Ludeke, “and I think the match against the Lions is a great opportunity for Chiliboy to show his worth.”
“We have waited for Rayno and his experience will be worth a lot against the Lions,” added Ludeke.
“He is one of those players who you need when things get rough hence we are very glad that he is fit and ready to play.”
