Flood wary of Croke Park aura
England flyhalf Toby Flood has warned his team of the dangers of getting lost in the atmosphere at Croke Park this weekend.
Flood, who was named ahead of Andy Goode at No 10 for this weekend’s crunch Six nations encounter, watched from the sidelines as his team come out on the wrong side of a 43-13 drubbing the last time he visited the famous ground.
While he admits the stadium has an atmosphere second to none, the 23-year-old has warned his team-mates not to be distracted, or they could face another tough afternoon in the Irish capital.
“I didn’t get on which was a blessing the way it went, although it was a fantastic game to be involved in. It was my favourite Six Nations game because of what it was. Never mind the result, just the occasion.
“But we must win this time. We can’t be drawn into the whole atmosphere and the occasion.”

Flood seriously SUCKS, dont smaak that little w@nker – especially after unnecessarily pushing Monty in the World Cup Final. Smug-faced twat.
You must be sad to be the 5th fly-half in 12 months and be the one picked at 5th when you’ve been in the squad all along!
Johnson is scraping the barrel man – even Cipriani is better than Flood.

It’s not landsdowne, theyre currently rebuilding it, so theyre playin at Croke Park which belongs to the Gaelic Athletic Association. This is a big deal because until recently the GAA had a rule which dissallowed foreign sports being at the stadium. There’s also the teeny issue of when british soldiers stormed croke park during a gaelic football game and killed a bunch of folks including some players almost a hundred years ago.The irish are kinda touchy about that one.

Another falls to the drugs……. Matt Stevens’ rugby career lies in tatters after he received a two-year ban for failing a drugs test.
The England and Bath prop received the “prescribed sanction” at a European Rugby Cup Ltd disciplinary hearing after metabolites of cocaine were found in his system.
Stevens, 26, has been banned from all rugby and rugby-related activities until January 18, 2011.
Stevens failed the drugs test after Bath’s 25-19 Heineken Cup victory over Glasgow on December 14.
After being informed of the result, Stevens made a tearful public confession and revealed he had developed a problem with drugs.
Stevens, who has won 32 Test caps, was immediately removed from England’s RBS 6 Nations squad pending the outcome of Thursday’s hearing in Glasgow.
He had been expected to make the Lions squad for this summer’s tour to South Africa and he could have been one of England’s most experienced players come the 2011 World Cup in New Zealand. His chances of featuring in that tournament are now minimal.
Bath chief executive Bob Calleja explained the club would seek to hold talks with Stevens as soon as possible.
“As far as the club is concerned we have to follow due process, which we have done,” Calleja told Sky Sports News. “We will now hold our own internal meeting with Matt and make a statement after we’ve done that.
“I’m hoping to speak to him as soon as possible, as soon as he returns from Glasgow (where the ERC hearing was held), and continue the dialogue now that we know what the conclusion is.”
