Toulon win but Tana crocked
28 Feb 2009
Toulon helped their cause to stay in the Top 14 with a 23-12 win over Bourgoin.
However, the victory came at a cost when former All Blacks centre and player/coach Tana Umaga limped off with a leg injury. The extent of the injury is yet unclear, although Toulon’s medical staff believe it isn’t serious.
Toulon, captained by Springbok loose forward Joe van Niekerk, were completely dominant throughout the contest and lead 13-6 at the break thanks to tries from Saimone Taumoepeau and Sinoti Sinoti.
Martin Jagr scored a second half try to seal the result and a late Conrad Barnard penalty ended the contest. The victory temporarily lifts them to 10th in the table, although they are expected to get sucked back into the relegation scrap after the round is complete.

#2 TheTackler: Maybe he should look into that – Toulon are awful.
