Boys’ High want Affies scalp

The Pretoria Boys’ High 1st XV aims to give outgoing headmaster Bill Schreuder a rousing send off in 2009.

The void left by their charismatic former coach Paul Anthony, who’s now with the Bulls U19 and academy, has been filled by Greg Hassenkamp and Johan Lombard, who have done a good job since taking over last season.

Pretoria Boys’ rugby has improved drastically and the 1st XV beat their traditional rivals Affies convincingly last year. They are scheduled to play tough matches against KES and Maritzburg College this season, but another Affies scalp will be their top priority when the teams meet on 9 May. Boys’ High will be attending the KES Easter festival before playing in the Jo’burg league.

A handful of old boys and current Bulls players will be helping the team this year, including Chiliboy Ralepelle and Richard Bands. They should be tough to beat in 2009, especially at home.
