Tough test for Michaelhouse

Michaelhouse will be hoping for a repeat of the 2008 season that saw them remain unbeaten in KZN circles.

The 1st XV played adventurous brand of rugby last year and gave the ball lots of air.

Gavin Ross, who did a stirling job in 2008, will again be in charge of the side in 2009. Ross also has the luxury of calling on the services of Sharks backline coach Grant Bashford from time to time.

However, a big challenge awaits Michaelhouse this year with only three players from last year still around, and they will face stern opposition from the top KZN schools looking to knock them off their pedestal.

Michaelhouse will play Grey PE, who they lost to last year, at the latter’s Easter festival. They will also be looking to maintain their dominance over traditional rivals Hilton, who they have beaten in their past four encounters.
