Sharks captain Johann Muller says they still haven’t reached their full potential.
The Sharks registered an impressive bonus-point victory over the Blues in Auckland and while Muller was satisfied with the result he stressed that they had more in reserve.
“There aren’t many South African sides who have won two in two on tour, and I have to give credit to the boys for the result today,” Muller said. “I was pretty pleased with the performance but I still feel we can get 30% better.”
The Sharks were very good across all facets of play, particularly on defence where they had excelled against the Chiefs a week ago. The manner in which they blunted the Blues would be pleasing for the coaching staff going into a string of fixtures against sides who pride themselves on their attacking play.
“We showed our character against the Chiefs in the last 10 minutes last week and we did that again today,” Muller said.
“The Blues are dangerous in general play and on the counter-attack and to defend as well as we did against them gives us a lot of confidence.”
