Eddie trades Watford for Tokyo
13 Mar 2009
Eddie Jones will take over at Japanese club Suntory when he leaves Saracens at the end of the season.
The outspoken former Wallabies coach is set to quit Saracens and will be replaced by former Springbok Brendan Venter. Jones rejoins Suntory, the club where he first started coaching back in 1996.
“I look forward to the challenge,” he said. “They have aspirations on the world stage.”
Following his four-year stint with the Wallabies, Jones coached the Reds before moving onto the English Premiership and Saracens. During his time with the Watford-based club, he also helped the Springboks in a technical capacity winning a World Cup-winner’s medal in 2007.

Gee, Eddie, thought your decision was for ‘family reasons’ and that you ‘want to head home to Australia’ ?
Never ever believe what comes out this guys mouth. He thinks he’s Jose Mourinho.

“The outspoken former Wallabies coach ….”
Come on now JC………..just say it………”Big Mouth Eddie”.
But I like Eddie, I find his Media Interviews refreshing. It is a rarity in International Rugby to find a Coach who says what he thinks……..what he really thinks that is.

Only when it suits him. The rest is just smoke’n'mirrors, much like his old mate Clive the Jive.

how can you be ‘half’ anything ? Youre either born and/or raised in a country or not.
Unless you want to play for England. Then neither criteria is required.
Eddies wife is Japanese tho.

Northern Hemisphere teams should put teams into our domestic competitions too, this would give players different skill sets and durability compared to their counterparts back home.
Imagine SA being able to call on NH based SA players for NH tours?

Oh and if Saracens do move to Craven cottage there is NO CHANCE of them failing financially!
