Young centres make tour cut

Morgan Newman and Dylan des Fountain have been included in the Stormers’ 24-man squad to tour Australasia.

Although the pair have been training with the squad they are yet to play Super Rugby this season. They replace wingers Tonderai Chavhanga and Nick Koster, the latter ruled out for the entire tour. Chavhanga may join the side when they travel to Australia to play the Waratahs and Brumbies, but this depends on how quickly he recovers from a hamstring injury.

Andries Bekker and Deon Fourie were two other casualties in Saturday’s big win over the Lions. Coach Rassie Erasmus has opted to include Tiaan Liebenberg as a back up hooker to Schalk Brits while either AJ Venter or Hilton Lobberts will slot in at lock. Erasmus may also use Duane Vermeulen or Francois Louw in the second row. Wicus Blaauw will cover tighthead should Brian Mujati get injured.

Scrumhalf Dewaldt Duvenhage is the back up to Ricky Januarie as Bolla Conradie is out crocked with a eye socket fracture.
