Framesby gunning for Grey
27 Mar 2009
Framesby coach Wynand Rauch believes his side can inflict Grey Bloem’s first defeat since 2006.
Grey enter the game in good form, having humiliated Duineveld 45-3 this past weekend, while the PE-based Framesby are gearing up for their first outing of the season.
‘It’s going to be tough but if we play to our potential we can win,’ Rauch told keo.co.za. Meanwhile, Ingo Machts, coach of Grey, is expecting a ‘physical encounter from the opposition’.
Framesby’s strength will lie in their dynamic openside flanker, Cornell du Preez, and hard-working eighthman Rhyk Welgemoed, who will hope to unsettle Grey at the breakdown and in the contact. Lock Rynier Bernado, who played for the SA Academy side in 2008, will be a threat at line-out time for Grey.
A big loss for the Bloemfontein outfit is that of talismanic SA Schools centre, Francois Venter, who dislocated his shoulder and will be out of action for an extended period of time.
This will be the first contest between the two schools.

I think it was Grey PE … and look at that another Eastern Cape school possibly. But yet the region gets ridiculed for wanting a franchise.

Framesby is hiding silver bullets on the bench – pace, fitness and excellent line breakers. They will come up to disrupt the backs and to keep the Grey loose forwards busy while the sting comes fom elsewhere!! Lookout surprise.

I’d like to know what kind of Mountain Cabbage they are marketing in PE these days.
They don’t have a snowball’s chance in Hotazel.
