The SABC, and not SuperSport, is to blame for the bizarre camera angles used during the Proteas’ T20 series against Australia.
Viewers were often given a side-on angle while the ball was being delivered instead of the traditional one from behind the bowler’s head. This meant that all perspective was lost as viewers could not tell how far away from the bat the ball was or whether the batsman had edged it. The camera also moved quickly from the bowler to the batsman which meant the ball was almost impossible to pick up.
The “creative” crew at the SABC also used other weird angles as the ball was being bowled, including the stump cam.
Keo.co.za has learnt that SuperSport plans to lay a complaint with the SABC before the start of the ODI series. The SABC feed is used by SuperSport, which broadcasts the games around the world.
