Kearsney kids get Sharks carrot
31 Mar 2009
Two players at Kearsney’s Easter Rugby Festival will each win bursaries worth R60 000.
The bursaries cover tuition fees at Varsity College and a contract with the Sharks Academy next year.
The festival takes place from 9-13 April. Participating schools include Dale, Queen’s and Selborne Colleges, Hoerskool Upington, HTS Middelburg, Hoerskool EG Jansen and Marais Viljoen, as well as Durban High School, KZN Development XV and, of course, Kearsney College.
Last year Sbu Sithole, captain of Queen’s College, won the bursary. He is currently in his first year at the Sharks Academy and studying towards his BCom Marketing degree.
This year’s recipients – the best forward and best backline players – will be announced on Saturday evening.
