Bishops full of confidence

A buoyant Bishops side now have St Andrew’s College in their sights.

Bishops upset Paarl Gym at Newlands on Tuesday night and hope to continue that winning trend in Grahamstown on Saturday (3:30pm kick-off).

The game should be the perfect advertisement for schoolboy rugby, as both teams enjoy playing running rugby and believe in keeping the ball alive.

St Andrew’s lost 62-18 to Bishops in last year’s encounter, although the visitors won’t be underestimating their opponents. St Andrew’s coach Stefan Louwrens is an astute tactician and will have spent hours trying to plot Bishops’ downfall.

‘Our boys are expecting a tough fixture,’ Bishops coach Dave Mallett told keo.co.za. ‘They will be out to avenge last season’s result. We are expecting a titanic struggle.’

For the visitors, flyhalf Sam Lane will once again be looking to marshall his troops and assert his authority on the game.
