Big Vic back home

Big Vic back home

Victor Matfield has had to return from the Bulls’ Australasian tour due to the birth of his second child.

The Bulls’ lock will miss the clash with the Brumbies next week. Danie Rossouw may fill in, but the loose forward depth is lacking for the final the match on tour.

And the award for the shortest piece goes to….you’ve guessed it….NO, NOT LUKE WATSON…….this takes it, congrats !!!!!

Wonder who is going to replace Big Vic when he permanently moves to Europe next season? Bakkies will probably follow his partner in crime. Powder puff Andries Bekker-am-I-a-wing-or-a-full-back just doesn’t cut it.

Hierdie is ‘n vergunning wat die Bulle se bestuur aan Victor toegestaan het om by die geboorte van sy tweede dogter te wees

Bulls must go on with the winning streak, lately they seem to handle the Brumbies onslaught better.

Sharks have a major obstacle in front of them, Crusaders are now at the business end of the season, really hope they can stop them in their tracks.

    The bye,s
    Week4- Brumbies /Lions
    Week5- Hurricanes/Bulls
    week6- Reds/Stormers
    week7- Cheetahs/W Force
    week8- Blues/Highlanders
    week9- Chiefs/Crusaders
    week10-
    week11- Sharks/Waratahs

    Why was week 10 skipped?
Sharks and Waratahs would love have a break right now?

  • 10.dWeePer: Reply to this comment

The most likely reason why week 10 is skipped is because there is still 3 SA teams down under

#9 superBul: I hope the Crusaders game isn’t one too far. The Sharks, however, have no reason not to be up for it because you can bet your bottom dollar the Crusaders will be.

Good to see the last time the Crusaders won in Durban was way back in 2002.

#11 Spooner: looking at that scores, in Durbs its always close. Hope the Sharks and supporters take something strong for the nerves.

#12 superBul: Same thing can be said for the Bulls this weekend. It’s one fired up Brumbies team, but the emotional drain on them has to take effect soon, surely?

  • 14.Spooner: Reply to this comment

It would be great for the Sharks if the Chiefs, Waratahs and Canes lose next weekend.

Unfortunately, just don’t see it happening.

Cheetahs v Chiefs (normal service resumed – it’s a NZ team)
Canes v Stormers (Stormers couldn’t buy a win at the Easter schools festivals)
Waratahs v Force (Force promise a lot but flatter to deceive)

The Sharks better take note and realise that any more slip ups will see them falling down the log and very easily out of semi final contention.

#13 Spooner: Yes we dont have a good record against them and losing Victor might cost us dearly, he is the scriptwriter of the new Bulls history. We were non existing for many years but the modern script looks much better.

Right, I have the read the entrails of wild rabbits and can say that the 4 semi finalists will be:

    1. Sharks (47 pts)
    2. Chiefs (46 pts)
    3. Bulls (45 pts)
    4. Hurricanes (42 pts)

The Sharks v Bulls game will be all important in deciding who tops the log. If the Sharks win (as the above takes into account, they will top the log. If the Bulls win, they will top the log and the Sharks will finish 4th, which will result in a Bulls v Sharks semi at Loftus).

    Sharks (30 pts)

An election rally in honour of late freedom fighter Chris Hani in Clermont, Durban on Saturday turned into a day of mudslinging and political head bashing.

With less than two weeks before the election, the Young Communist League (YCL) national secretary Buti Manamela, Congress of SA Trade Unions (Cosatu) general secretary Zwelinzima Vavi, and SA Communist Party general secretary Blade Nzimande used the opportunity to attack opposition party leaders.

“We want to tell ugly Zille… we defeated Helen Suzman and we will defeat you”

Lol, “ugly Zille”. The intelligence of these chaps is astounding.

  • 18.Pietman: Reply to this comment

Don’t know about defeating Helen Suzman, where did they get that from?
Aunt Helen was always on their side during the ‘struggle’ years.
I don’t think these boyos know much about SA’s political history.
    Manamela?
Mamela’s younger brother maybe, he sounds dumb enough.

So Victor has now produced two sons.

I would much prefer he had sired daughters.
The last thing us Kiwi’s need in WC2034 is a locking parnership consisting of two Victor Juniors.

Congrates Big Guy. Enjoy the Youngins. Nothin in the world beats being a DAD.

#17 Spooner: Zille is a babe. Blade Nzimande’s face is so acne-scarred it looks like a lunar landscape. That IS one seriously ugly dude.

As a matter of fact, Vic has sired two daughters. That is the good news. They will marry men that will be better lock forwards than Vic. The bad news is they will play for the Bulls

    #24 whatever:

Nope… he will miss three games pending appeal… although it won’t do much good after he blew a kiss at Waugh after the strike…

So no Matfield, no Botha for the Brumbies game… no Botha for Chiefs and Force… this might just be the end of the line for the Bulls!
