Munster surge into semis
12 Apr 2009
Defending European Cup champions Munster blew the Ospreys away at Thomond Park, winning 43-9 to book a place in the semi-final.
Munster now face countrymen Leinster, who beat Harlequins 6-5 at the Stoop on Sunday.
Munster were superior in all facets of play and secured victory through tries by Paul Warwick, Paul O’Connell and a brace from centre Keith Earls. Warwick contributed two drop-goals, while flyhalf Ronan O’Gara banked 17 points through four conversions and three penalties.
The scoreline of the Leinster-Harlequins clash didn’t fully reflect a superb contest marked by punishing defence.
The Quins spent much of the second half camped in Leinster’s territory, but the Irishman remained patient on defence and ultimately hung on for a memorable victory secured through the boot of Felipo Contepomi, whose two penalties trumped a try by Quins fullback Mike Brown.

Munster are strong, their 2nd team (minus all the Ireland internationals) would’ve put the AB midweek team to the sword had they not brought the big guns on.

Hmmm… here we are yakking about irrelevant Munster while the people running this website are ignoring old Butane Kompeller’s latest my-way-or-the-highway threat.
Good heavens, these keo.co.za guys are fast asleep at the wheel in the double-helix world of politics and rugby!

Ohh and big hit below is the big guns that NZ bought on that you are talking about.
Hikawera Elliott, John Afoa, Brad Thorn, Kieran Read, Alby Mathewson, Richard Kahui, Mils Muliaina.
Now looking at it,Cory jane was playing better than Mils last year and has been this year as well. Kahui was playing well but the rest you cant say are the big guns of NZ rugby can you?

#4 Big Hit: How about the game in 1954 when Higglesbottom from the Pommy team, scored under the posts but was brought back beacuse the touch said he put his foot into touch, and he would have won the game, or in 1959 when Jonny Rigold was foot tripped by Bill Tawhiti when heading for the try line, would have won the game for them on Lancaster Park, or the Munster game they could of won that, or the 07 WC, jeez get a life BTit, harden the FK up, what if Hitler had been mates with Winney, we wouldn’t of had the 2nd world war, and off course if your team hadn’t played **** rugby for the last 8yrs you wouldn’t ranked 8th eh?????
Have your say
