The match between the Chennai Super Kings and the Kolkata Knight Riders has been abandoned due to rain.

The weather in Cape Town had not improved sufficiently by the 8pm cut-off and so the points have been shared. This is the second match to be called off because of rain, but there have been more than two matches that have been effected by inclement weather.

Cape Town is usually pleasant until early May, but unfortunately for the IPL, winter has arrived earlier than expected.
